According to Western Hills roster on KHSAA scoreboard, it’s Wandale.

Big get for the Cats,

With Nebraska having the kind of season they are, and the Cats having a once in decade type of season,who can blame him for staying home.

 

Maybe signings like this, will lead to the Cats having these type of seasons regularly.

The scoop I am hearing is that Robinson was promised by a Nebraska Coach that a player would be changing positions and he would have a starting spot.

 

Robinson committed to Nebraska silently this week. Called and gave them the scoop prior to his decision. Nebraska HC Scott Frost never called him and congratulated him or his family that night and that immediately didn't sit well.

 

The other day Robinson was on a call with Frost and the Nebraska staff and when the position change was brought up, Frost denied it with Robinson listening on the call.

 

Basically Robinson's trust was betrayed. From everything I have heard about this kid, he is very blue collar in everything he does. Robinson's biggest grief with Nebraska throughout the process was the distance from home, so with trust issues on top he chose to stay home with a staff he trusted.

 

Nebraska fans are all sorts of salty right now including legitimate members of their media, but the truth is they should be mad at their own staff.

Frost is a fantastic recruiter and Wandale has been one of their top targets this whole recruiting process. They just had a player transfer out in Tyron Lindsey who plays Robinson’s position and Speilman is gone after this year. The opportunity was definitely there for Robinson in Lincoln. He chose to stay close to home because he wants to be a part of what UK is building. Nothing else.

Logically it doesn’t make any sense. Nebraska is losing 2 guys who were contributors to this years team who play the spot that Robinson is projected to play in college. Why would one of the best recruiters in the country sabotage Robinson’s recruitment to Nebraska? That doesn’t make any sense. The only way that makes sense is if Nebraska had a last second change of heart on Robinson themselves.

Damn Speilman is only a sophomore you’re right. My bad. I thought he was in his 3rd year. Either way it still doesn’t make sense why Frost would go cold on Robinson right at the end.

Could Wandale's decision be directly attributed to the "Missouri Effect". Ky has been there recruiting hard for three years and he was torn between being a homegrown Wildcat on mediocre teams and going elsewhere. With the excitement around the Cats this year and finally the Spartanish Missouri win, could it be the young man wanted to be part of what could be an exciting Ky run.
