Who is Sally Mally from Harrison County???

Sally Malley played at Clark County in the 80's. One of the best to ever play in the tenth region before she blew out her knee her senior year.

Beth Wilkerson of Paris was Miss Kentucky Basketball. She turned down a scholarship to the University of Tennessee with coach Pat Summit, to attend Old Dominion University(which at that time was a better program than Tennessee). I don't want to take anything away from these ladies that have been mentioned, or their accomplishments, but if the question is "Who is the Best Player of the 10th Region," I think Beth Wilkerson is that person.....hands down! :thumb:

Any list needs to start with the 4 (I believe) Ms. Basketball's: Vice from Montgomery County, Denkins from Nicholas County, Wilkerson from Paris and Schwegmann from Brossart.

 

Mary Custard, Megan Gray, Camryn and Noel Whitaker and Brooke Faulkner from Harrison, Amy Moreland and Megan Wood from Pendleton County, AD Graves from Deming, Whitney Lee and Harmony King from Montgomery County, Rachel Hamilton and Connie Appelman of Augusta, Molly Linville of Bracken County, Camey Geiman of Brossart (to me very, very underrated. She was as important to the Brossart team as Katie was) Clark has several but I am not as familiar with their names.

Mary Custard or Beth Wilkerson would probably get my vote if I had to pick just one player as the BEST! Of course the list has to include Schwegmann and Vice. They both were dynamite players!

 

Rachael Hamilton was very under-rated during her career at Augusta. She was among the first class of 5 players that was voted into the 10th Region Girls Hall of Fame inaugural class a few years ago. She had a heart of a lion and played as hard as any player I have ever seen. Moreland and Hamilton had some battles when Augusta and PC were still in the 38th together.

 

Connie Appelman was dynamite and ahead of her time. Molly Linville (now the coach at Bracken Co.) was an all-around player, wasn't much she couldn't do on the court.

 

The Whitaker girls are real players as well. Had wonderful careers at Harrison!

Katie Schwegmann from Brossart... Stud...

Katie Schwegmann is one of the top 10 players I have ever watched play girls bball. By far top 1/2/3 in the 10th!

I always thought Rebecca Arnold from Fleming Co was a very skilled player. Done the fundamentals very well and could get on roll shooting the Rock

Connie Appelman is the all-time leading scorer at Augusta and she also topped 1,000 points at Morehead State University in the early 80's.

 

According to the all time leading scorers plaque outside Augusta's gym Rachel Hamilton is leader at Augusta with 2122 pts. Not sure if there is another just for Connie if she scored more?

Best player I seen was her SAlly Malley from CLARK county not harrison back in teh 80's
