Tough loss for the Camels.

Weird game all around. Mount Healthy’s stadium setup is bizarre and this game felt like a scrimmage instead of a game. It was the least enthusiastic high school atmosphere I’ve ever seen.

 

The Camels moved the ball at times but failed to cash in when they needed to. There were 3-4 big plays that determined the outcome but that’s typical of most football games.

 

This may sound like sour grapes but the officiating was atrociously in favor of the home team. The turning point in the game happened mid 4th quarter when the Camels were down a score but had complete momentum. After forcing a 3 and out, they forced a Mt. Healthy punt. The Owls punter kicked it straight into the backside of on offensive lineman and the ball took a fortuitous bounce right into the hands of an Owls player and he advanced it deep into Camel territory. The official ruled that because the ball didn’t cross the line of scrimmage, it was a live ball and Mt. Healthy first down.

 

Bottom line, the Camels had their chances and didn’t make the plays they needed to. Uninspiring football to say the least. Hopefully this is a wake up call for both the coaches and players. They’re a better team than what they showed and should’ve still won this game in spite of the refs and adversity they faced. Onward and upward, Camels.

We’ll blame it on Lickert, lol. This was one heckuva drive for the Claryville faithful. We outnumbered their cheering section 3-1.

Over the last decade, CC has scheduled home and homes with Norwood, Roger Bacon, Milford, Western Brown and Mt. Healthy. For reasons unknown, they scandalously went against policy in 2015 & 2016 and scheduled East Central HS from Indiana.

As long as the linemen was not beyond the line of scrimmage this is the correct call, and one heck of a tough break!

It was so hard to see anything because the stands on the visitor side were so low. It sounds like it was the correct call but man, that was a back breaking play for the Camels.
