September 28, 20188 yr Johnny Miller - "US can't hit a fairway...can't hit a green...can't hit a putt." David Feherty - "I'm not sure Mickelson and DeChambeau could play the radio." :lol2: I love Feherty!
September 28, 20188 yr I love Feherty! Me too. He knows how to have fun with this stuff. When the Cup was in Louisville however long ago, the sold tiny radios you could carry around with only two channels: the NBC feed, or the BBC feed. By day two, everyone was listening to the BBC because they would get excited and crack jokes while NBC was just its normal joyless self. Faherty gets what a lot of his counterparts on NBC don't: it's golf, but it doesn't have to be so serious.
September 28, 20188 yr Xander Schauffel would have definitely been a good fit for this team. I knew Phil wasn’t going to do much, he’s pretty much stunk it up the last month or so.

No surprise at all. He's 18-20-7 all time at the Cup. I don't know about whether he should be on the team or not...but, he certainly shouldn't be playing foursomes. •Singles (W-L-H): 8-5-1 •Foursomes (W-L-H): 5-7-4 •Four-balls (W-L-H): 8-8-2
September 28, 20188 yr What a disaster this afternoon...USA goes from up 3-1 this a.m. to down 5-3 this afternoon.
September 29, 20188 yr What a mess. Another howler from the US. The Woods/Reed team is going to come out of this 0-2. Saw that Americans only won FOUR of a possible 50 par fours in the morning matches. These guys can’t find fairways. Europe lead 8-4 going into afternoon foursomes already in a position to only need 6 1/2 points to win the cup. USA needs to at least split these afternoon matches to have a shot tomorrow.
September 30, 20188 yr The story of the US in this Ryder Cup is too much playing from the rough and can’t find their “ta-warge” (that’s a local term used at my home course, lol) with makeable putts. And Reed, Bryson, and Phil completely lost their games and confidence.
September 30, 20188 yr This Thomas/McIlroy match is fascinating. Neither one can seem to get the edge on the other. Each will make a mistake the other can’t capitalize on or will make a great shot to match the other. All square with two to play.
September 30, 20188 yr Tommy Fleetwood had been nearly flawless in the first two days. Raise your hand if you called Tony Finau beating him 6&4. Awesome performance from him. USA getting early points but there’s just too much blue left on the board right now.
September 30, 20188 yr Been racking my brain about these captains picks, but not really getting anywhere. Woods and Michelson have been pretty terrible, but the lowest ranked player to be selected — Tony Finau — has been really solid all weekend. In the end, it’s hard not to think that we all knew the long careers of mediocre play that Woods and Michelson have had in match play and that Xander Schauffle maybe shouldn’t just be watching this on TV.

I agree. Ive been impressed with Schauffle's game since last year. I believe he would have been very good at this event. Also Kisner would have helped too. I think those two could have at least found the fairway at a higher percentage than some of these guys.
October 1, 20188 yr No chance i would have taken Phil solely based on how bad he's played the last few months. I can understand taking Woods based on how well he's been playing but would have thought hard about it knowing how the Euro's were setting up the course. Putting some much value on being in the fairway might have kept Woods in FL.
October 2, 20188 yr US team was a dysfunctional mess. First we had Reed throwing Speith and Furyk under the bus and now we've got reports that Koepka and DJ almost got into a fist fight & had to be physically separated in the Europeans locker room Sunday evening.
