What IF Rutgers Runs the Table?

Featured Replies

Maybe, but it will be referenced heavily when Louisville is undefeated and on the outside looking in because of the BCS system.

IMO the only team that gets in over an undefeated UL would be a 1 loss Ohio $tate...

Rutgers wont beat Louisville or WVU and even if they did, I cant see them climbing over all the teams in front of them all the way to no.2.

Then you will be among the disappointed masses when the final BCS rankings are announced. After what happened with Auburn a few years back (again the Auburn reference), I don't see them stiffing the SEC from the title game again so soon. It's not right but it's the politics that is college football.

So the coaches and Harris polls will be rigged? Do tell???

If Rutgers and Boise State both run the table, both will likely miss out on a national title. I wonder if the BCS has the sense of humor and the cajones to pit them against each other in a BCS Bowl game.

Are both of those polls 100% correct every week? Aren't we on here always discussing how one or both of these polls have over ranked or under ranked a team every week? Do you think the final poll will be any different?

They have NEVER placed a BCS unbeaten behind a 1 loss team. So, again, do tell...

And an undefeated SEC team had never been shut out of a national title game until Auburn a few years back. Safe happens.

How many times has there been an SEC unbeaten in the same year that there were two other BCS unbeatens? Again, that argument isn't even in the same ballpark...

There's always a first time for everything. Even we agree on stuff sometimes. I think this is one of those "first time" years. And, again, it has nothing to do with Louisville or the Big East.

It is one of those first time years, I agree. The first time the two Big 11 rivals play twice...

Like I said. Even we agree on something every now and then.

Rutgers would deserve it over once-beatens, but they wouldn't make it. They started out too low.

Your last sentence is EXACTLY the main issue with this system - its all about where you start the season which is pure conjecture.

Looking a little more realistic now, isn't it.
