Ryle basketball star Lauren Schwartz has verbally committed to Rice University. In addition to being one of the top 20 academic universities in the country, Rice Women’s Basketball is quickly becoming one of the top women’s program in the country as well. 23-10 last season - Returning their best players from last season and adding in a top recruiting class from 2018 will make the Owls a top team to watch this year. Their head coach helped make Maryland a final four team and has completely turned around the Rice program around the last four years. Lauren’s 2019 recruiting class is five outstanding 2019s already being called the “fab five”. I would expect this team to be making great runs in the NCAA tourney for the next 4-5 years.

 

Lauren has worked really hard to earn this opportunity and is additionally an outstanding student. Congrats to Lauren and her family.
