Strangest Movie You've Ever Watched?

Featured Replies

I don't know if I could pick a single "strangest" offhand. Eraserhead and Mullholland Drive aren't surprising to see on the list...I'd agree, basically all of David Lynch's movies are weird.

A Clockwork Orange is another one I'd put towards the top of the strangest movies I've ever seen. Rocky Horror Picture Show, Jim Jarmusch's Dead Man, Being John Malkovich, and Swiss Army Man are a few more that come to mind.

The hills have eyes

Twin Falls Idaho (1999)

Maybe not the strangest, but still an unusual premise:

Siamese twin guys seek to finally lose their virginity to a hooker in a hotel, one of them falls in love with the hooker, while the other brother becomes increasingly ill, and the healthy brother takes care of him until he dies, and then the alive guy and the hooker begin a relationship.

Gummo, directed by Harmony Korine was mentioned, and while I've heard of it and have been told I should see it, I've seen two other Korine films; Kids & Julien Donky-Boy where the later was very challenging and difficult to watch.

Rob Zombie's - House of 1000 Corpses (2003) disturbed me.

The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989)

Weird as hell.

John Water's - Pink Flamingos

Has its bizarre moments that can be twistedly funny, but overall just found it to be rather vulgar and disgusting. Waters is pretty much a slimy guy aiming to shock. Dude creeps me out.

Maybe strange, but mostly just different, and with that said a movie that crept into me, and really had a deep impact on me.

After Life (1998)

Japanese movie that had newly dead people of all ages enter a generic industrial building singularly and be asked what their happiest moment of their entire life was because this is how they got to live for eternity. At the beginning of the movie the viewer was not aware that they had recently died.

Perfume: The story of a murderer (2006)

Young man in 18th century France kills virgins to extract their scent to create a mind blowing fragrance.

Very interesting movie though far-fetched as hell.

Moulin Rouge (2001)

Got on my nerves so much that I walked out. Never really got the hang of the movie, and its hyperactivity drove me nuts.

Jules and Jim. Fellini gives me headaches. Had to watch it for Cinema History.

Just saw this one for the first time about a year ago. It was intriguing considering the content and the time it was released, and the period it depicted. The woman that they were sharing really upset me at the ending.

I think I’ve seen that. Didn’t leave an impression either way.

My biggest problem was The ending after that long movie. Also it was a Tuesday night three hour class. Zzzzzzzz

A friend showed me Pink Flamingos years ago. I was not prepared for what I saw at age 16.
