UL coach placed on admin leave for DUI

Featured Replies

Tight end coach Chris Klenakis was placed on admin. leave after being charged with a DUI Sunday.

He was caught swerving through a construction zone, with workers present.

He’s been charged with 4 crimes: reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, possesion of an open container and first degree wanton endangerment.

Kudos to UofL/Petrino for moving swiftly placing him on leave immediately. :thumb:

Shocked this hasn’t been posted already, swerving through a construction zone with workers present!? Why hasn’t he been fired?

Should coaches be fired at the first sign of trouble or misstep?

I'd guess he's done at UofL

Petrino made comments yesterday (I believe) that made it seem like it was being handled by the powers that be above him. Based on the details of the story, I'd let him go and made sure he got the help he needs.

He was also reportedly so intoxicated he got out of the car and tried to walk into traffic before police stopped him.

He risked so many lives, no way he can return. Construction workers present bro... that’s scary.

My guess is as soon as they heard about it, they placed him on leave to do a full investigation. Once the investigation is complete, the proper punishment will be administered. I would hope every school would place a coach on leave at first signs of trouble to investigate. I really hate when coaches try to cover up what happened and then lie about it.

Has he had his court hearing to see how he pleads yet?

Please answer the question I asked... Should coaches be fired at the first sign of trouble or misstep?

This is all new to me, it happened last Sunday but never made it on here... I’m trying to read up on it. I’ve posted the immediate facts I have.

It doesn’t always work in the format you want. You let me know when you want to answer my questions, then I’ll answer yours.

You don't need to answer mine, keep doing you. We're all having a good time. :lol2:

He hasn't been fired because he was placed on leave until the legal portion is concluded. Pretty simple.

Your turn.
