Bowling Green 20 Central Hardin 13

Featured Replies

BG played ok. I know many will be saying they are down because they did not blow out Central Hardin. I find that unwise for a few reasons.

1. First game of the year with a lot of differences from last year to this year (head coach, all WRs, etc).

2. I think the Central Hardin lines played awfully well tonight. And I think they will win a lot of games this year.

3. Many, many woulda, coulda, shoulda's that I'm hoping will be addressed (OLine holding, WR critical drops etc. I'm talking like it's easy and know it isn't but those are things that will make a difference going forward.

August football is not October or November football and BG.will need to improve their efficiency to prepare for the tougher teams they will face and they are all either 6A or 5A teams. Good night!

Central Hardin’s defensive line was out there all night so I’m very impressed with those guys!

There offense looked much better after opening the play book up.

Congrats off to BG on the win!! I would like to see them throw more though.

Purples win ugly but they still get the W!

Two touchdowns called back on holding penalties as well as two drop catches in end zone. Purples leave 4 TDS on the field. Can’t get away with that very often and still come out on top.

Beau Bucannon goes 26-36 with 239 passing yards

Vito Tisdale rushes for 122 on 16 carries. As well as a 42 yard punt return for a TD. Voted offensive player of game

New WR corps. Jordan Dingle (Sophomore) is D1 talent.

D-line for Purples played well, early.

Coach Spader, like in the scrimmage, played a very conservative game. Not a fan favorite offense but with Bucannon and his efficiency along with Tisdale and a couple of other weapons, I foresee steady improvement throughout season.

Yes. Other BG teams have been better but give them some time to gel. Don’t need to peak till November anyway!

Good job Purples. Keep working!

Purples win “ ugly” ?

About right.

How did CH open the play book up given the fact that how they operate either from under center or gun is practically all wing t based? I’d love to hear a detailed description of that from a schematics X and O’s point of view.

What route combinations against coverages would you like to see BG throw more against? What was there coverage wise that they didn’t take advantage of?

They basically mixed in different types of runs with the pass more. Don’t believe they threw the ball that much in the first half.

And that means what?

What were those different types of runs?

Well for Bowling Green I liked to see more deep balls. They eat CH all night on the Slants. BG usually has speed and lots of it. Throw the vertical route and see if those DBs from CH can keep up.

And that means what?

Well basically if u don’t mix it up enough the defense will catch on! Anymore you want answered?

Catch onto what? There are a ton of gaps to defend run game along w schemes- be them ‘man’, ‘gap’, ‘zone’.

I’m not the one questioning or recommending the play calling- your are, so I’m asking?

There are always vague-across the board answers, but I just like getting to the nitty gritty.

What was BG lining up in defensively?

I just like to hear the “expertise” on here is all.

Let’s hear your thoughts on this?

Let me rephrase what’s your thoughts on the game?
