Madison Central vs Lincoln Co. ...playoff rematch

Featured Replies

the most impressive improvement to the Lincoln offense has been the passing game it isnt overwhelming but it can burn you if you decide to load the box on the run

That would be the best way to take on LC, make'm pass and take away the run.

I can only remember one pass completion for Lincoln against Madison Central. It was on the 2-point conversion right before the half. I don't think they threw more than 3 or 4 passes.

It's not like they needed to pass against MC though.

Lincoln Co. in a good one 28-21.

I think Lincoln in a closer game than this past Friday's contest. I just think Lincoln is too strong for Madison Central right now but expect this to be much closer.

Mad Central 24

Easy to say, harder to do.

Lincoln isn't a threat through the air but they can beat the one on one coverage that Calhoun and Miller force. In years past, we weren't able to do so.

Lincoln County is back in the post-season playoffs for the first time since 2000 when the Patriots lost a first-round game to Waggener 26-21.

The 2006 team:

* won 9 games in the regular season, the most since 1994 (9-1).

* scored 378 points, the most since 1993 (528 points in 15 games)

* allowed 130 points, the fewest since 1993 (119 points in 15 games)

* finished 1st in the District for the first time since 1994.

Lincoln County is 20-15 (.571) in the playoffs. In first round games, Lincoln County is 10-5 (.666). The first ever playoff game was against Estill County for the District championship in 1979 (LC won 14-6).

Lincoln County has advaned as far as the Regional championship nine times (1979, 1981, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1999) and has won three Regional championships (1988, 1990 and 1993) and was AAA State Runnerup twice (1990 and 1993).

Six times, Lincoln County has faced regular season opponents for a rematch in the playoffs. Their record in those rematch games is 3-3:

1988

W 16-0 vs Woodford County (regular season)

W 41-14 vs Woodford County (2nd round of playoffs)

1991

W 24-14 vs. Woodford County (regular season)

L 7-28 vs. Woodford County (2nd round of playoffs)

1992

L 6-14 vs. South Oldham (3rd round-Regional final)

1994

W 27-6 vs. Woodford County (regular season)

W 21-14 vs. Woodford County (2nd round of playoffs)

1995

W 18-15 vs. Woodford County (regular season)

W 21-14 vs. Woodford County (2nd round of playoffs)

W 28-19 vs. Montgomery County (regular season)

L 21-25 vs. Montgomery County (3rd round-Regional Final)

2006

W 41-7 vs. Madison Central (regular season)

? ??-?? vs. Madison Central (1st round)

Coach Turner will bounce back and have the Indians ready. Leonard's Loser Lincoln County.

Is there any important injuries to take note of on either side. I haven't heard of any on the Lincoln side, but is Hope injured or was he pulled?

I don't think Central showed Lincoln everything they had last Friday. This being a playoff game nobody will want to go home after the first game so look for this one to be a much better contest and I give a td advantage to the home team Lincoln.Should be a good game!

Im not goin to say it wont be close but i know Lincoln knows it will be harder the second time but i have no doubt Lincoln is to strong it will be about 34-17

Hope was not injured. With Central down 34-0 to start the 4th quarter, he was replaced with the JV QB. He has not lost his starting job. The game was already out of hand and he was taken out to try and regroup and not risk injury before the playoff game.

Are you kidding? #1 seed at stake. Homefield thruoghout the playoffs.

PLEASE.

Does anyone know why LC didn`t put the flag up last week? Was there something behind it , or just another glaring example of poor support!
