Of course there are a few 2A teams who could beat DeSales. 2A is loaded at the top.

That's one of the things that I have been thinking. We are looking at a squad with a new head coach, playing with a new offense, and without their starting QB. I think that the X squad we see by the end of the season will be much different than the team we see now as they get more comfortable with everything.

 

Not to take anything away from the Colts, I was stoked to see this, but I think people are still overlooking those details.

I agree, but first real game with a new team and new school is different than practice and a scrimmage.

 

Besides, people need to remember that Beatty lost his first game at Trinity in 2000. This sort of thing is not unusual.

Let's not get carried away. It's one game. It was a perfect storm last night. I was super impressed how the Colts answered after giving up the lead late. The OL which was our biggest question mark coming in, I think did a good job overall. They were blowing X off the ball late in the game. Our strength coming in was the DL. They didn't disappoint. They play fast, and physical. They are going to be a problem for a lot of teams to handle this year. We just have to get the secondary squared away. If we can do that, this can be a special defense.

I know X didn't have their QB. But C'mon! Your a school of 1400 boys. Your second string should be about as good as most teams in the state's first guy. It was a nice win last night, but I think you could have inserted Mayfield, or CAL in DeSales place last night, and got the same result. There is a lot of talent in the south end of Louisville. We just have to keep getting our fair share.

Now we have Butler this week. Hoping we don't have a hangover. I think Butler could be the 2nd best team in 6A

There might be a response in both Mayfield and Danville to this question, especially after how Mayfield handled one of the top small school teams in Tennessee last night.

The kid that transferred to Butler is not eligible to play this season.
