Indians at Reds (8/13 - 8/15)

Featured Replies

Cant, hes out of options.

He’s out of options at the end of the year. He can be sent down tonight. And should be halfway to Louisville by now since he left the game about 2 hours ago.

Who was the biggest failure in B9? Runners on 2B & 3B (unlucky that ball bounced over wall or Billy likely scores) and 0 out.

CANDIDATES

Votto - grounded to the 1B. All he needs to do is elevate the ball or hit it anywhere other than 1B and game is tied. (I was actually surprised Indians pitched to him.)

Hamilton - he was out by a mile at home on the grounder to 1B. You have to be aware of where defense is playing. 1B was only IF that was positioned to come home. When Joey hits it there, you bluff to see if you can draw a throw, but you don't go.

Peraza - did not advance to 3B on groundout. In this situation, you watch the runner in front of you. Once you're certain he's going, you go. It's a tag situation at home, so no jeopardy of getting doubled up. If for some crazy reason they throw directly to 3B, at least the run scores.

It isn't Hamilton. According to Riggleman they had the contact play on there so Hamilton did exactly what he was supposed to do. Peraza should have sent to 3rd.

Absolutely the dumbest play in baseball.

I didn't see the end so I have no comment, lots of people were mad online at twitter.com though.

Well the guy that called it has a record of 711-878 as a manager so it shouldn't be a shock that he had it on. I really hope they don't get hot in September and he gets the job next season.

The pool of managers that may consider the job is small. I heard David Bell's name mentioned the other day, ugh.

Good to know. I agree that "contact play" is lazy and bad strategy.

Well he’s not a good manager so it’s not surprising.

No clue why Mason Williams and Preston Tucker are getting starts while Irvin and Herrera rot away on the bench.
