The Meg

Featured Replies

Big fan of shark movies so I'm going to see The Meg tonight. Anyone else interested by this movie? I think its either going to be pretty good or really bad.

Thought about going to Bel-Air Drive-In in Versailles, Indiana. They are also showing “Jaws”. However, “The Meg” is the second feature and I’m too darned old to stay up that late for a movie. It’s also a 50 minute drive.

If it was playing first I would definitely go.

Wife wanted to go to the movie last night so we watched this. It was OK, not horrible, about what you'd expect. I thought early on the movie was actually decent, kinda Jaws meets Jurassic Park feel to it. Once the Shark is seen however, the movie gets very predictable and cliche'd.

I liked the storyline about how it had survived all these years without being seen by man, that was a neat little bit of imagination by the writer.

Of course, decision making by characters was stupid, or else they wouldn't have found themselves in the predicament they were in...:lol2:

CGI was pretty good.

They should have forked out the money just to play "Dah dum...dah dum dah dum" at least once in the movie.

As a Shark movie this is way behind several, most notably JAWS, Open Water and USS Indianapolis. But better than the Sharknado movies. It's on par for me, with The Shallows.

In other words.. wait for Redbox?

This is a pretty good assessment. I would probably give it a little bit higher praise than what you did but it’s pretty spot on.

Wait, so am I to assume by your comment that you thought USS Indianapolis was a good movie? Oh goodness please don't let that be the case!

I guess I enjoyed the story more than the movie. I didn't get too hung up on the acting.

I think the biggest revelation from The Meg isn’t even anything to do with the movie but rather that Schrute Farms must have really taken off after The Office stopped filming. Dwight is now a billionaire.

The end was good, the rest of it, not so much.

That was my thoughts too.
