Governors Scholars Program 2018

Daughter is heading out to NKU for 5 weeks. Anyone else have kids in GSP this summer, if so where are they?

I guess this will be an empty nest trial run for her momma and I. She's never been away for more than a few nights at one time, so 5 weeks will be hard on us...I just hope she enjoys the experience and has a great time.

Congrats to your family!

She will love it! You will miss here. But the time will fly by.

My son wemt in 07. His 3 closest friends are people he met there.

That's great to hear, she was excited but nervous also.

The friends she will make at GSP will be people she will keep in contact with the rest of her life. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life hands down.

Glad to hear that...she hasn't decided for sure about where she wants to go to college yet, hopefully this opens her eyes to different possibilities.

Congratulations! My upcoming JR was accepted into NYUs precollege program and received a nice scholarship. We deposit her in NYC next week for 6 weeks. I'm going to miss her horribly. Next year, she will be applying to the GSP. I hope your daughter loves it!

She is going to have sooooo much in common with the people that are there.

I know when I went that if you played football you could request the earliest date so you didn’t miss very much if any football. All 3 programs start on different days and one I believe is a week ahead of the other two.

Mine was to be at UofL, I only remember having 1 option as of when to go, but that was 21 years ago so..........
