Didn't realize Scooter would be a free agent next year. He's definitely worked himself toward a pretty decent contract next year considering he was just released by the Brewers last year. You're right he's probably priced himself out of what the Reds would be willing to offer considering they have Senzel waiting.

And he’s very bad defensively.

The "non business-like" Reds fans, unlike many here are going to be pretty upset to see Scooter go. I feel like a lot of people have really grabbed onto him as their favorite, especially kids. Lots of Scooter fans down there.

But, I am on board with whats best for the future of the franchise.

Zero issue with it at all.

He seems like he will go down as one of the most unappreciated players in a Reds uniform and thats a shame. Tons of respect for him on and off the field.

The statement where he said he viewed the bad start as a good thing because it highlighted that they need to make adjustments?

Why would anyone have an issue with that statement?

I listened to his portion of the podcast, its well worth listening. Yahoo MLB podcast released yesterday.

Talked about how he doesn't blame people for not believing the organization right now. Said its a tough time to be a Reds fan and know that some in the organization won't be happy with his comments, but oh well.

He basically repeated what he said back in spring training. He also called out ownership for in a sense doing nothing. Also hinting that the best thing may be to trade him (for both parties.) Deep down he knows he is not winning his 2 championships he wants here, and that his clock is ticking, that the Reds need to make moves to win now, or he needs to move on from the Reds to accomplish his goals.

For once I have nothing bad to say about something Votto did.

Peraza SS

Gennett 2B

Suarez 3B

Votto 1B

Duvall LF

Schebler RF

Barnhart C

Harvey P

Hamilton CF

If nothing else, it'll make it harder to bring in a left-handed specialist to face back-to-back batters. Will be interesting to see if Suarez can get even hotter with Votto batting behind him.
