Crunch the financial numbers and you'll see that there is no way UK will fire Brooks unless they absolutely have to. They'll look for a scapegoat to please the fan base, and based on the high school defense we've fielded this season - we all know who that will be.

What financial numbers? If finances come into play, he's in big trouble. 15K empty seats per game is a lot of jack.

It has nothing to do with the empty seats - it has to do with his contract. In my opinion, Rich Brooks will be coaching UK next season.

What is his contract status?

No one has been more patient than I have re: UK football. However, I think that the embarrassing performance at LSU where he admitted he did not have the players ready combined with a general lack of enthusiasm about the football program (see many empty seats) is going to have a huge impact on Mitch's decision. The only way to get that enthusiasm back to beat UGA or UT.

I agree with you all completley in that 6 wins is not a succesful season, but I think its improvement, and you have to start somewhere is the way Im thinking. I would love nothing more than to hire some young gun with nothing to loose who will bring the fun back to Kentucky Football, but right now no one like that wants to come to the program. So with Brooks would I be happy with 6 wins, yes. Do I think wins against either UT or UGA are huge for this staff, no (Not this year anyway). I think if Kentucky wins the games they are supposed to win for the remainder of the season :

Mississippi State

Vanderbilt

Louisiana-Monroe

Then Brooks will for sure be back next year.

Just my humble opinion my friends,

Yoter

From my understanding, they would have to pay a large chunk of change to get rid of him. That might "sway" their opinions when it comes to next season.

From the begining of the year, the point has been that if you can't get to 6 wins with this schedule, you'll NEVER get to 6 wins.

Well said and I think very true, but I do believe a win over UT or GA would be huge for this staff and at this point of recent struggles for this program it would be huge for UK. I'm not so sure 6 wins is even necessary for Brooks to return next season, as you have said they have shown improvement barring a winless finish to the remainder of the season.
