Actually, my comment was in affirmation of your statement. The rolling of the eyes was my opinion of the effects that the relationships between AAU coaches and college coaches have on the recruiting process.

I thought you said you were disappointed in the way UK recruited Mackey b/c Tubby had not been to Scott Co. Then you said Tubby had been to Maysville and Hoptown several times to see the others. The paper today says that Tubby hadn't been to Hoptown this semester either. Which is it?

 

Well I had heard that. Obviously it wasnt from a reliable source, making me unreliable in this instant.

I do know that Mackey did not get invited to UK's MM until just a couple days before. He had alreayd planned the trip to IU.

But thats neither here nor there. I think Coach Smith has really focused on the 07 guys and not really paid a whole lot of attention to the 08 guys yet like Stansbury and Sampson, for example, has done.

 

As for the AAU coach-College coach relationships, I think a lot of times they can be shady and it just doesnt seem right. Now I know some AAU coaches are honest and have good motives. Im sure these AAU coaches drive a lot of the highschool coaches, who have these prospects, nuts.

Hopson was on Hopkinsville TV and said he liked the loyalty and respectfullness showed to him by Mississippi St. He said they had been in on him since he was a Freshmen.
