True, but if every team got $50 million...it didn't really help anyone catch up. Maybe that's where the Reds got the money to sign Suarez?

That would hold water if the free agent market weren't so slow this off-season. The small market teams weren't being outbid by the big market teams.

Only 3 were from the bottom 11 in revenue. 2016 - 15 winning record teams; 1 of those was from the bottom 11 in revenue. 2015 - 15 winning record teams; 2 of those from the bottom 11 in revenue. How long will the fans of those bottom 11 keep coming to games, watching broadcasts and paying attention?

How long will the fans of those bottom 11 keep coming to games, watching broadcasts and paying attention? That's an ownership/management philosophy issue, not a salary issue though. Those teams are capable of spending a lot more on payroll and still turning a profit. They opt to pocket the $$ instead.
