Your saying black suspect is dead because he is black and white suspect is alive because he's alive. Seems clear.

That's what I believe. Black people are perceived differently than white people, for whatever reason that may be.

Depends on the situation.

Tennessee vs Garner....

"The justices held that deadly force "may not be used unless necessary to prevent the escape and the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious bodily harm to the officer or others."

My point was it seem reckless to keep shooting at someone as they are running away.

Can't say it enough. Depends on the situation.

Right, but you'd have a tough time convincing most people that shooting someone in the back as they are running away is ever justified.

Other than these two cases?

How about how me and my black friends have been treated differently by cops than my white friends?

These two cases are completely unrelated and comparing them makes no sense.

If things were that simple it would be clear but things aren’t that simple. Just because the cops in this situation didn’t fear for their lives as 68 year old white waving a gun and shooting at them the same way cops shot 12 year old Tamir Rice as he played with a water gun doesn’t mean cops are racist but that also doesn’t mean that race didn’t play a factor.

Perceived opinions are as strong as facts. Do you honestly believe you can convince blacks who have felt their whole lives that they aren’t perceived differently than whites? Hell, a black person can’t convince me I’m not perceived differently than whites let alone a white person. I think you are fighting an uphill battle with that question.

How you feel is how you feel and I'm not going to argue with your feelings.

Comparing these two cases makes no sense because I could just as easily provide an example where a black man killed a police officer and was arrested without being shot.

I’m not opposed to seeing those examples even though I know @TheDeuce and I would be all for that dude getting killed by the cops. He’d deserve it.

My issue is painting every situation with a broad brush. It's absolutely possible the office that shot Tamir Rice was the worlds biggest racist. It's also possible he was inept and had no business being a cop. It's also possible he knew the kid had a gun and reacted when he made a move to draw it. The gun was not a water gun but an air soft that looks exactly like a real gun. If that was what happened how were the officers suppose to know if it was real or not? Should they wait until shots are actually fired?Regarding the story in the OP, maybe the cops knew the guy. Maybe they could tell the run wasn't real. Maybe they just assume any white guys with guns are not a treat because their white. Maybe whoever called told the cops he had a pellet gun and not a real gun. Again, who knows because the article no information.

Yes, and the questions blacks all across the nation are asking right now is how is Oscar Walters still alive because the perception all across the nation by black people is that if he was black he’d be dead. That perception isn’t going away in our lifetimes.

I’m eager to see how this case develops. On the surface the guy may have an excessive force claim if he had already surrendered and then was beaten.

After watching the Rice video again, I’m shocked at how fast it all happened. 2 seconds and it was all over. No standoff, no warnings nothing.

Ky. cop killed by suspect pretending to be police officer - NY Daily News

Here are two more examples. In one case, a black male murdered a police officer and was later arrested after an hours long man hunt.

In the other case, a white male murdered a police officer and was killed by police after hours of hunting.

It doesn't make sense to compare these two cases. There are/could be many reasons why one lived and one didnt.
