Elder (OH) 5 Highlands 2

Featured Replies

Birds are scheduled to play Saturday 4/7 vs Sycamore, Monday 9th, Tuesday 10th, and Thursday 12th.

Opps! Well other than facts getting in the way it was a nice attempt. :lol2:

Birds had plenty of chances to score but just couldn't get the timely hit. Stranded over 10 runners in scoring position. They need more confidence in pressure situations. Birds scored their two runs on a single by Sam Hennigan. Joe Steiden made a diving catch in left field. Defense had a couple of throwing errors. There will be a lot of different defensive lineups this year because Birds are deep at infield players.

Play of the game goes to Elder. Up 4-2 top of 7th, runner on 3rd, and Panthers lay down a 2 out bunt. Batter beats out the throw at 1st. You gotta love 2 out bunts!

You must be using the double-secret BBird schedule since the KHSAA web site does not list a 4/7 game. Fact. Either way, you Antsies are missing my point. I wasn't criticising the team's playing time, just the arrogant comment that when HHS is playing all the others sit.

Did a highlands fan say that? No

I will tell you this, JB will get the maximum number of games in no matter if it means playing 3 in one day. Those khsaa schedules are pretty much useless

One game in and you already have diagnosed their confidence level in pressure situations?

Somebody else asked me why Dreeves was pitching and not Rom. There are plenty of possible reasons, here is just one more. Likely not the reason for Elder game, but this would be my reason if I were coaching. Rom has seen plenty of good opponents and tight games in the past 2 years in Region and State. Dreeves has not had the same experience since Doty was around last year. So, I would want to put Dreeves into several "big games" this year to get him ready come region time. You already know what you have in Rom.

Yes with help. They need more confidence!

Well first it was not a arrogant comment at all. I was lamenting the fact that Highlands will get a chance to play while everybody else is sitting our this horrible rain. It was a mere observation based on the forecasted weather this week and next week. That is all it was. Man you read wayyyyyyy too much into that comment.

And JOAT I might be forced to be a closet Highlands fan unless they are playing one of my teams I have a rooting interest in. :jump: But then again...........

Yeah, that did not come out the way that I wanted it to. I was trying to say exactly what you just said regarding the weather in this neck of the woods. Maybe it is time you come out of the closet.

"read wayyyyyyy too much into that"

I can own that.

Bird fans have every reason to be excited about their team. They'll be very fun to watch this year.
