Odell Beckham Jr.

One of the top 5 overrated players in the NFL, IMO. Good talent, maybe great talent. What has he really accomplished except a few Sportscenter catches.

You may not like him, but don't pretend he isn't good. Look at his stats. 3x pro bowler already. Rookie of the year...

Just because I think he is overrated, doesn't mean I dislike him. I do like him. It's simple, being a Giant really really helps him in the exposure department. That's just the way it is. If he is a Brown, he is just another player. The Browns seem to want him , though.

The one thing in all this I am not seeing is does OBJ want to play for the Giants anymore.

Of course he does. Media exposure is huge for him. No way he wants to play for a non media proponent team.

He isn't just another player. It doesn't matter where he is. His stats prove what you are saying is wrong.

He wants to get paid. And i don't blame him.

Agreed, but not necessarily with the Giants right? I mean he has said he wants to be a Giant.

He has been top ten around 8-9 in two years, 3 in 2016 and last year doesn't count. He was around the 8-9 range when he got hurt. He is not worth AB, Ty Hilton (look at his stats), Julio $$. He is worth AJ $$, the are about the same, in fact OBJ has a little better stats.

Why he is overrated? IMO is the position he plays. WR's are not as valuable to me as QB, D-line, o-line, and DB's , then WR. Being 8-9 on average in the 5th most valuable position, that's all. My thinking is if they put all the players in the NFL and redrafted, he would not be a 1st rounder. He'd be in the late 2nd early 3rd maybe IMO.

He's good, but not even top 5 at his position and stats bear that out. I would rather play him any day than playing AB like we do twice a year now. Not even debateable.

It has nothing to do with like or not. I usuually root for the Giants in the nFC, they an dteh Vikes are my favorite teams in that conference.

:lol2: He wants the Giants to pay him. Why wouldn't he want to be with them? Why does he have to say it?

He's top 3 at his position.

You must have only looked at yards comparing him to TY Hilton...

In 2014 he OBJ had 9 more catches and 5 more TDs. TY had less than 100 more yards and OBJ only played in 12 games.

In 2015 OBJ beat him in every category.

In 2016 OBJ had more catches and touchdowns and TY had him by less than 100 yards.

Let's also not forget that OBJ is only 25. He's got a lot of good football ahead of him.

This isn’t just about OBJ, but my feeling is elite receivers in general are overvalued, all of them. Not necessarily overrated. You typically don’t see the best of the best being led by someone that may touch a ball eight times a game. A lot of WR adoration stems from the success of fantasy football in thinking they are worth more than they are, then add the divaness of a WR...

Often WR's are a product of the system and team around them, especially their QB. It's not uncommon for a guy to have tons of success in one place, but then go to another team, and just be another guy. Good QB's and systems, can make good guys look greater than they really are.

Giants have asked for at least two first-round picks in return for Odell Beckham Jr., a league source tells ESPN, even though team insists it is not shopping him.

Doesn’t mean they get it, or close to it, or even trade OBJ. But they have asked for at least two first-round picks.
