Flying out of CVG

Featured Replies

I will actually be working out front at cvg Thursday morning starting at 5 am, Thursdays have been rather busy lately and with some canceled flights today it could be busy, I would suggest 5:30, get thru security grab some coffee and relax before flight.

Speaking of TSA Pre-Check... I've been thinking about doing it. I only fly 2-3 times a year, but I may still do it. Anybody use it?

Not sure why which airline would matter. TSA security is the same no matter which airline you use.

The check in process if you are checking a bag on Allegient is ridiculous. That’s what matters.

MrsC and I fly a lot. We are both Global Entry. The process is slightly longer to get through then TSA Precheck.

When I did it, I think it was $15 more for Global than TSA Pre but it lasted 7 years and TSA only 5. They are both 5 years now.

Global is still $15 more, but if you ever fly out of the country it gets you through customs 5 times as fast.

Ok, now I understand. I wasn't sure where you were going with it.

They are not the fastest. They also have the fewest customers that know what the heck is going on. Very few are regular/professional flyers.

I did the same. Allegient somehow does not pick up my global entry number.

CVG's website will tell you how long the wait to get through security is.

I have almost been burned on an early morning, weekday flight to Mexico. We departed CVG at like 6:30 a.m. or something and I was absolutely shocked when there was a long line to get through security.

That's odd. May want to email them if you haven't already. They can attach it as part of your profile on your online account I would think.

Also will depend where you are parking. If you are flying delta, check in is usually not bad at all, I use the sky caps and you can go straight to security check point. None of the other airlines have skycaps anymore. Frontier and allegiant are the slowest by far.

I will be out front either moving traffic or working the Cross walk, just yell hey allsport, would love to say hello and lend a hand in anyway.

Most important question that has not been addressed. What airline? Delta, AA you are good with 1 hour plus. I’m TSA so I’m good at an hour.

If you are flying the economy airlines plan on 2 hours plus or you may be there all day.

Delta both ways.

I am checking a bag and I know I've gotta fill out some additional paper work due to the contents of said bag. I think I'm just going to plan on being there by 5 and maybe grab some breakfast if we have extra time.

What's the cost, I've considered doing this.

Asked the gal at the counter today.. Saw my number in there not sure why it didn’t work.

Last I looked TSA was $85 & Global Entry was $100.
