My co-worker, who went to NKU, said he's only going so that he can see the space where the banner used to hang.

The space is gone. It’s all closed in.

You’d never know it existed... except for the fact that the people who own the building across the street hung a giant 2013 National Champions banner on the side of it.

I think I'll just let him be disappointed.

The wife and I made it down and got our tickets. Having dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. I’m glad to see they still have the 2013 National Championship banner on the front of The Yum Center. We are looking forward to seeing it. Good couple of days going to Rupp tomorrow for the boys state tournament. I’m very thankful to have a great wife who loves basketball as well.

As for a prediction, I feel like UL is 10-15 points better than NKU on most nights. BUT, I feel like tonight will not be one of those nights and the Nores will get the win. No real reason other than I feel like they want it more and I generally hate that cliche, because typically every team wants to win as much as their opponent does, particularly in a game that will end your season. This one feels different though, I think UL just wants this season to be over and I can't really blame them. Good luck to both teams though, hopefully its a close, hard fought game by both teams.

First time at the Yum Center. It is a really nice facility good place to watch a game.

If you agree to play then you certainly want the home court “advantage”. Also, it’s the NIT following a grueling series of events... what optics are left to be concerned with? lol.

Actually, it is quite common for schools to agree to play but pass on hosting.

But why?

But why?

Lose money on arena / staffing vs tickets. Clients are ticked you have to cover everything. Game is usually half-full. Not worth the effort to scramble and sell tickets, complete pain for ticket staff. Coaches like getting their teams away from distractions at home after missing out on Tourney. All are reasons that schools have pondered when passing on hosting.

I will add, I thought UL's crowd was great tonight. Smaller, obviously, but got into it and were great.
