How many year's was Estill in the 10th Region and did they ever make it to the Regional Tournament at The Fieldhouse?

How many year's was Estill in the 10th Region and did they ever make it to the Regional Tournament at The Fieldhouse?

 

I think around 30 years. They were in the 11th region prior to the mid-1970's.

 

I'm not sure how many times they made it to the regional tournament.

 

I recall their AD once telling me about one of their teams making it to the region at Mason County, but it might have been their girls team. He said they were located so far south in that region that very few of the other member schools knew they existed. He based that on a pamphlet type handout that had a write-up and photos of all the teams in the tournament. All it said under Estill County's picture was, "Not much is known about Estill County."

Not sure of the number of times that they made it, I know they made it in their final year in the 10th, 2004-2005, they lost to Pendleton Co. I believe they upset GRC in the district to get there but I may be wrong about that.

^ correct. Clinton Dixon's and1 with 4 secs to go gave Estill a 50-49 win over GRC. Estill got throttled by Pendleton County in the region.
