Indeed. Conversely, Brossart very out of sync tonight, especially in the second half.

Scott is very quick and athletic. They all play very good defense and don’t take any plays off. They are very unselfish and doesn’t care who scores.

While the Brossart Mustangs played a much more contentious game than that contested in Taylor Mill back on January 26th (a 70-46 loss), the Eagles remained too quick, strong and cohesive, getting a sterling performance from Junior Trey Meister in the first half, scoring 14 points and spearheading a 32-21 halftime advantage for the Eagles.

 

Scott contested everything, and forced a number of Brossart turnovers along the way. We were outscored 15-9, 17-12, 16-8, before edging the victors 21-20 in the final stanza. The Eagles lived at the free-throw line, connecting on 24-30 from the stripe, a 10 point advantage over the Mustangs, who could merely manage 10 of 18. The Eagles took advantage of a 28-19 rebounding discrepancy, converting on numerous second and third effort baskets.

 

Chad Ohmer led all scorers with 18 points, 13 of those coming in the second half. Meister added one point in the second half to net 15 on the night.

Brossart was led by Sophomore Ethan Eilerman with 16. Senior Bryce Donnelly went out on a high note, scoiring 11 points, including a trio of 3-pointers in the final quarter of his high school basketball career and 15 points on the night. Freshman Carson Schirmer added 12. For his efforts, that included 6 assists, Bryce Donnelly was named to the 37th District All-Tournament team.

 

The Mustangs drop the curtain on a 15-12 season that will see us graduate four seniors.

The Eagles will take on Campbell County (90-55 winners over Calvary Christian) Friday night in the 37th District Championship game. Both teams will advance to next week's 10th Region Tournament.

Zach Hamberg Finishes Career By Setting Two School Records

Career High 3Pt Pct - 142-307-46.3% Highest Season 3Pt Pct - 74-149- 49.7% (not real happy about this one LOL).

Donnelly who set records for receiving in football and a state contender in track went out on the all tourney team after having a great game.

Austin Schirmer a gutty kid, who stuck with the program even after losing a year due to injuries.

And Aaron Bell, the fox, new comer to the program who stepped up when called upon and did what he needed to do.
