Lafayette 25 Henry Clay 13

Featured Replies

Actually the 1seed of this district plays district 8 in the playoffs. So it would be Lafayette/GRC. Either Madison Central or Lincoln would take home the #1 seed in that district and face off against Tates Creek or Woodford Co. With Montgomery being the 3 seed and facing off with either Scott, or Henry Clay. This is if Lafayette beats Scott Co. of course

You are completely wrong on this. The District 7 #1 seed will play the District 7 #4 seed, and #2 play #3. The District 7 versus District 8 matchup would occur in the third round.

Lafayette dominated this game by smashing Henry Clay in the mouth. Henry Clay's six turnovers (two inside the twenty, one inside the five yard line) did not help, but they were outplayed by the Generals.

Big enough that it is for the #1 seed in the playoffs.

If Scott County wins, tie-breakers kick in between Scott Co., Lafayette, and HC for the #1-3 seeds. I think Henry Clay would get the #1 due to their non district opponents record's are better than Lafayette's.

If Lafayette wins, Scott County travels to Henry Clay for round 1 and Lafayette will most likely host Tates Creek.

I am under the impression that if Scott County beat Lafayette next week, a coin toss would break the three way tie.

I must state I am saying this without 100% certainty.

If there is a three way tie it goes to non district opponents wins. Scott County lost to Lexington Catholic which hurts them. I think they beat Wayne County as well which doesn't have a great record if I'm not mistaken. Lafayette and Henry Clay both went undefeated but they both beat Boyle so that's a was on that one, but Henry Clay beat Pikeville, Bell, and Christian which should put them over the top of Lafayette if a three way tie takes place.

Wow! Very impressive win for the Generals, especially on the road. What a statement. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.

Surprise to me , although Lafayette has been impressive. Congrats to the generals.

Glad I didn't bet the farm on this one. Lafayette has improved greatly since they played Boyle Co. In Henry Clay's defence, it is really tough to stay in the game with 6 turnovers. Congrats to the Generals on this great win and best of luck to you next week and through the playoffs.;)

What about the interception and TD Gifford did make and the almost impossible diving catch he did earlier. He was the "player of the game" and you only mention he let one slip through his hands!

Mason County got to see Lafayette in game 1; they looked pretty solid, with the exception of turning the ball over, then.

Their place kicker impressed me a lot. Did he get a chance on FGs in the game last night?

So in other words it doesn't matter if Scott Co. Wins or loses Friday night they still come up 3rd seed in the play off. (Figures):irked:

I stand to be corrected, but I think if Scott County wins against Lafayette on Friday, they would open the playoffs hosting Lafayette. I think that would make them the #2 seed. If Scott County loses, I think they would play at Henry Clay.

I am not totally sure about the three way tie breaking criteria. Anyone know the absolute answer?

Wow! Where have I been, I'm living in the past. Thanks for clearing things up strongopenyon

You are stating the way it ought to be. This 2006 playoff system is awful. Once teams finish the regular season in their districts, they go right back into single-elimination district play. I liked last year's format much better.
