Past NKAC Winners

Ryle won the head to head which is the tie breaker.

No tiebreakers. Co-Champs. The fact there is no tiebreakers is just more proof that the NKAC means absolutely nothing.

If there were tiebreakers Ryle lost to Campbell and SK beat Campbell. Let’s all face it the NKAC isn’t actually a thing. It’s just a way to get all the schools of similar size in NKY to play each year.

ALL TRUE! I didn't know they didn't use a head to head tie breaker. Like you've said nobody really brings it up and even most avg. fans don't even know it's a thing.

For the large schools there is no doubt that the conference title no longer holds any luster. That is a shame, but also a reality. There was a time when that wasn't so, but it's been many, many years. However, do not throw too much shade because it does indeed matter to the small, truly class A type schools. The fact is that those schools have little chance of advancing even to the Regional tournament level (despite the profoundly inaccurate allegation by some on here concerning the "David vs. Goliath" myth) makes the conference title something worth shooting for and they do indeed consider it worthwhile.

Agreed, and I’m a believer that the small schools should value a NKAC title. Nothing wrong with that at all.

The NKAC Conference competitions are only as important as your individual programs make them.

They are much more important to the Division III schools who make them a top season goal, since there is little hope for them winning a district or regional championship. This past week at both Belleuve (Girls D-III Champs) and Calvary Christian (Boys Div-III Champs) the Conference Championship was heralded via PA, and at Calvary, by electric signage.

They are also more important to we old timers who grew up with the NKAC Titles being a point of focus, back in the day when Bob Miller, Stan Steidel, and Roland Vories were the driving forces of the conference. Through Vories connections with Coca-Cola, the conference banquet was sponsored up, and an absolutely first-class event.

The present day conference benefits those of us who are not members of the 10th Region and helps us maintain our ties to other Northern Kentucky competition.
