By picking him up at half court, it allowed Thelen to come up and double team, which resulted in Kunkel passing the ball off.

 

Thelen was very effective in this role. I thought this was a huge part of limiting Kunkle. But Kunkle was messing with that mask all night long and played a part as well.

Hoping no one else comes down with the flu. I know kids don't want to miss but come on. The way that stuff is going around right now. I thought Nowak did a great job. He is a up in your grill kinda defensive player. Way to go Casey.

I hope too that no one else gets the flu but Cov Cath had 75 students out today sick, many diagnosed with the flu and one hospitalized. They also had 180 students ride buses up to DC to participate in the March for Life Thursday thru Saturday, so there were plenty of chances for the Flu to spread. In fact my son said someone got sick in the back of his bus. Not sure if any basketball players went, but even if they did not, good chance they all have been exposed.

Casey didn't guard him as often last game. They tried a few different defenses. Even with Nowak hounding him at KOB he hit what looked like a 25-foot pull-up 3 right in front of the CCH bench with Nowak's hand in his face. Tip your hat and move on to the next play.

Mayer is still battling some sore knees, I believe. He didn't play in the two prior games. Kid is a bull on the court. He'll create contact one way or the other.

 

Jack Davin is a backup. Still figuring out how aggressive he needs to be and finding his role on this team. Long arms. Can help defensively. Nice to have him in the rotation.
