Could have gone either way. I blame a certain HS English department for our comprehension difficulties. :lol2:

That's cool... I thought that perhaps I might've been referencing the wrong info, and also I'm still not sure exactly what @The Professor was asking specifically so I just researched it to answer both ways to cover all the bases.

I should have worded my question better. I was curious how many teams had won the KOB and the state tournament in the same season.

That's cool...a happy omittance as it made me discover the answer for whichever way that it might be asked. :lol2:

I just checked on the KOB website comparing each year's winner to the Sweet 16, and it's never happened where a team has won both in the same season

Might want to rethink this answer. Don't confuse same season with same calendar year. Winning the KOB in 1996 (December) and the state title in 1997 (March) is the same season.

You're research is good, and will show the host school multiple times.

Ahh...good point.... What a goofball I feel like. :banghead:

@The Professor @Runcible Owl

So after rechecking considering that the KOB is held in December, and the Sweet 16 in March of the following calendar year, it looks like...

Fairdale won both in the same season twice ('89 & '90), and ('93 & '94).

Eastern won both in the same season once ('96 & '97)

Ahh...good point.... What a goofball I feel like. :banghead:

We both learned something. The KotB website made it easy and Google is my friend.

The KotB has a lot of cool info on its well done website under "Tournament History."

Rez was correct in an earlier post. A lot of great teams are not ending the year unscathed.
