Tom Petty. He was on my bucket list of performers that I wanted to see.

If I had to choose one, I’d go with Tom Petty for the same reason as the Professor. Otherwise, I haven’t given any of them a second thought.

Chris Cornell is the one that continues to punch me in the gut repeatedly.

I honestly have no idea who that is. One of many on the list I could say that about.

While I hate to see anyone die, especially those that are much too young, someone that I do not personally know and have never even met/talked to don't really have much an effect on me. There are a few exceptions but for the most part I don't give it much thought.

In a nutshell, this is my feelings too. I'm indifferent to most of them.

Chris Cornell was the lead singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave. Also put out some solo stuff and was in a few super bands. One of the best vocalists to come out of the 90's.

That must be why. I'm not a big music guy and especially not pop music of the 90s. Ive never heard of those bands either, LOL

Not Pop but Rock. Soundgarden was one of the bands born out of Seattle during the alternative/grunge explosion in the late 80's early 90's. They are one of probably 5 or 6 bands that I believe people think of as being the ones that altered the direction of Rock at that time.

Gregg Allman, Tom Petty and Chris Cornell were the ones that impacted me the most. Allman was not surprising, but it was the personal connection with the Allman Bros. Band that I had with my uncle, who introduced me to rock'n'roll, that made it hard.

 

With Petty and Cornell, it was personal from other angles, and surprising.

Non really for me. Yeah it is sad to see a performer pass, but at least their work has been recorded forever. For some strange reason it bummed me when Bowie passed the year prior but typically if they really never had been in my personal life, it doesn't bother me. I get that their work may have brought fond memories but it seems I don't miss what would have come next from them. I do miss what would have been next from my parents and others that have passed.
