Hoptown b-ball fan Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 I know they lost Harmon and the kid who went to Austin Peay. But are they really that bad? They got beat by a bad Davies County team... I"m expecting Hopkinsville to throttle them today.
BIG BLACK JACK Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Let’s revisit this come end of Feb, beginning of March.
sweet16 Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Right now they are not as good as some on here said there were. Now that could change over the course of a season. This is a team with a whole new starting 5 and a new coach.
Shadow_son4th Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Final from Marshall County: BG 72 Hoptown 55 Tigers never lead once in the game. Purples still didn't play their best by any measure.
DragonFire Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 From what I read, Bowling Green jumped on Hoptown early, got out to a double digit lead, and then Tigers closed to five at the half. Jalen Johnson then missed the entire second half due to a knee injury. Johnson apparently indicated he was about 20 percent entering the game. Even so, I believe these two games tell both sides of the story. When you have to replace that many players, then you're going to take some head scratching losses. When talent and potential gel, you're going to see some high points. And everywhere in between.
coachlee Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 If Cager and Johnson are both out, Hopkinsville is not very good. When they both are in there, that is a totally different team. BG will be fine in time, but that was a bad lost to Davies County. The win today is not as good a win as that was a bad loss considering Cager is not playing and Johnson played with a significant injury.

ApolloFan98 Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 I know they lost Harmon and the kid who went to Austin Peay. But are they really that bad? They got beat by a bad Davies County team... I"m expecting Hopkinsville to throttle them today. I don't expect Daviess County to be "Bad". They have some players and made a nice run to close the season last year. They only lost 1 real contributor to that team. They did look bad in Madisonville, ill give you that, but I think they are much better than they showed there. Their December schedule is pretty rough, so we should know more about them soon.
Hoptown b-ball fan Posted December 4, 2017 Author Posted December 4, 2017 Thanks for the info. This injury to Johnson must be really bad if he wasn't able to play in the second half on such a big stage. He played the entire game against Caldwell county on Friday night. HOpefully they get it figured out so they have a chance. If they don't have him or Cager then I think that puts them in 3rd in the district.
