October 10, 200620 yr Going into this season we all felt that UofL had taken the necessary steps with regards to out of conference scheduling that were they one of 2 unbeatens they would get the National Title shot. However with the poor performances by teams such as K-State and Miami(FL) do you still feel that's the case? Basically, if Michigan and UofL are the last two unbeatens, but a team such as Texas only has the one early season loss to tO$U, do the Cards get the bid before the Horns, or same scenario with the likes of Auburn or Florida in place of Texas??? Thoughts???
October 10, 200620 yr I think after Auburn went undefeated a few years ago and didn't get in the N.C. game, they will be more adamant about putting the two unbeatens in the N.C. game. I think it also depends on how UL finishes the season...If they win out, and win those games convicingly, I dont really see how a one loss squad should jump them...Call me a homer if you want, but I just feel like if there are two (and only two) BCS schools undefeated at the end of the season, they should be in the N.C. game...I felt the same back when Auburn got the shaft.
October 10, 200620 yr If Louisville is unbeaten, and one of only two or fewer unbeatens in the BCS conferences, they'll be in the title game. Regardless of what Miami and K-State does, that WVU game will be a top 5 win. That'll be the juice to get them in. Particularly since Louisville is actually doing fairly well in the computers, and WVU would help that. From what I've seen, Louisville is ahead of all one loss teams in BCS projections at this point.

I agree if there are 2 undefeated teams they should play in the NC game, however right now Texas is ranked higher than UofL, and I really don't see them losing any time soon. I think the two undefeated teams should duke it out, I just don't see it happening unless the Ville puts a big hurtin' on the Mountaineers.

If the other undefeated is tO$U, take it to the bank that Louisville would leap Texas. Voters would consciously move Louisville up to get their chance rather than a repeat of a regular season matchup.

If there are more than two undefeateds, IMO thats when you start looking at schedules, and what the people on the schedules did...At that point, its probably up to the computers...There are still seven (give or take a few for different teams) left in the season, and a WHOLE lot could happen...So we'll see.

In no way am I doubting this, I just can't find the computer rankings anywhere.....You have a link?
October 10, 200620 yr Sagarin (red is BCS) Anderson and Hester Billingsley Colley Massey The Wolfe rankings are unavailable until next Sunday. Louisville's rankings are 20, 8, 10, 9, and 12 Texas is 10, 26, 6, 16, and 14 In the computer polls, you throw out the highest and the lowest, so Texas' average is 13.33 and Louisville's is 10.33 with the Wolfe ratings still a mystery.
October 10, 200620 yr With those same computer rankings, here is the current projected BCS standings: 1) tO$U .9838 2) SoCal .9405 3) Florida .9042 4) Michigan .8746 5) Louisville .7161 6) Notre Dame .7046 7) Tennessee .6967 8) WVU .6956 9) Texas .6906 10) Auburn .6180
October 10, 200620 yr Louisivlle needs to run table and get some help.Yes they do. Louisville needs help against two teams: Florida, and USC. I am very convinced that Florida will lose to Auburn, either in their next tilt or in the SEC title game. And USC hasn't looked like a run the table team the past two weeks either. So I'm begining to think they'll get the help. To be honest, at this point I'd rather see Louisville undefeated and in the Orange Bowl agaisnt Clemson or Georgia Tech, with an argument for a split title. I think that who ever plays the Big 11 champ in Glendale is going to lose.
October 10, 200620 yr You have to remember that Michigan will more than likely lose to O$U too! Obviously UofL has to get through WVU and although they aren't world beaters, Rutgers would be one of those slip up games I'd keep an eye on.

It's like the words were typed by me :thumb: I also think that voters will realize HOW Texas lost at home to OSU when considering them over Louisville.
