I can't put in words how much I like Lonzo. For the starting point guard to play 30 minutes, not score, and his team still has a chance to win shows that he's impacting the game a lot of ways.

Seems like a lot more talk is leaning towards Lonzo struggling as opposed to your take. I don't watch much regular season NBA because its meaningless, but why do you feel Lonzo is having such an impact?

Because box scores don’t tell the full story. In the two or three games/portions of games that I’ve watched, he hasn’t tried to win ROY. He’s just trying to win each possession, and the game as a result.

 

He has deficiencies, like standing around on offense when he doesn’t have the ball. That bugs me, but he typically makes up for that with high IQ, team-minded plays when he does have the ball.

 

He’s not trying to be the best player or biggest superstar, which is allowing Ingram to be that guy and be as aggressive and involved as he wants.

 

There’s something about a rookie recognizing and accepting his role that catches my eye. Fox is doing the same in Sacramento, but he is being asked to be a bigger part of the offense.

 

He just seems to get the game.

Im not sure if it's his shot because there have been a lot of good point guards who couldn't shoot. To me Lonzo needs to be more aggressive. You need to have a dog inside of you if you want to be a good point guard in this league. I know it's early, but Lonzo doesn't appear to have that.

I think aggressiveness may come with experience, on the other hand his shot...

Lonzo, youngest player in history with triple double. Pretty good game. Even when struggling with his shot early he has just missed a couple of other triple doubles.
