Region 1 Rankings Week #8 (Post Your Polls Here)

Exactly. However, this is where the whole scheduling notion gets misrepresented. Let us say Fulton City had played Mayfield's schedule... they would probably have 1 win at this time and would not be any more prepared to take on Mayfield.

Fulton City, imo, has done the correct thing. They put some winnable games on their schedule to get the community and school a little confidence. Remember, we are still dealing with 14-17 year old kids; emotions/confidence mean the world to their success.

I feel they need the easy games to build there confidence, but, I would still throw a tough 1 or 2 in there somewhere, just to see where there weaknesses lie so they could work on them before the big games come..

Fulton City has something like 150 kids in the top four grades ... they are playing the schools they need to be playing.

I agree.:thumb:

FSimpson over Graves and Apollo...WOW
Cynical is an avowed Warren East supporter, and Franklin-Simpson is the next big game on the Raiders' schedule. No coincidence there. ;)

Actually ... aside from the Illinois team, which got on the schedule because both teams were having a hard time finding suitable opponents, these are the same programs that Fulton City has always played.

You're not the warm-fuzzy type are you? I ranked Franklin last week's top 10 in my last poll as well. And to be honest, I can see them beating my Raiders if we don't come to play.

Warm and fuzzy?

I can see Franklin-Simpson beating Warren East, too ... not sure I would pick it, though. And I still doubt that their appearance on your list is a coincidence.

If Warren East plays the way they did in the first half against Logan County, they will lose. That second half was big for the Raiders because they'd not really played well against a team since the 15th of September. Big for momentum heading into a big game against the Wildcats. Although really, the game is not as critical as you'd think. In the past it would have meant hosting a home game against a team from District 1, and avoiding the powerhouses Hopkinsville and Paducah. Now it just means homefield for the rematch in the first week of the playoffs. The District 2 playoffs are in reality already set, although it's not official yet. It'll be:
