Both Bama and UGA have to go to Auburn, one of us won't make it out alive; I just hope Bama does. UKMustang is simply right, the committee got it wrong last year and won’t give preference to a non conference champ anymore. I still think Bama and GA are undefeated going to Atlanta.

October 31, 20178 yr Author Only way I see it happen is if multiple Power 5 conference champs have multiple losses. I believe if OU loses another game and ND loses another game we will see two teams from the same conference make it. I think the committee would put a 1 loss Penn State team or a 1 loss SEC Champ loser in over a Big 12 champ not named Oklahoma.

Georgia and Bama are just lucky they fall on different sides. Why would you penalize Penn State for losing a game @OSU by 1 point but reward UGA/ Bama for losing a game on a neutral field by presumably more than 1 point? That doesn't make sense.

Well, because they each played an additional game. They each made it through the regular season undefeated. Penn State didn't. If it's a close game, a loss to the #1 overall team would be better than a loss to Ohio State. The argument could be made for either team, but if Georgia/Alabama are 1 and 2 going into the title game, I'm not sure how you can drop them that much off the back of a close loss. At the end of the day this is all pretty much moot. Just like every year, it'll work it's self out between now and then.

Because at that point who would PSU have beaten? They don't have any meat left on their schedule. That is why most people felt that the OSU/PSU game was a playoff game.....loser goes home
