Is there any one from Ballard that can confirm this? Is the 70-7 from last year going to motivate the Bruins? I know the Ballard players stomped on the T and the Rocks made them pay during the public/private vote week.

^ I can give you all the affirmation that you need. I have been around the Ballard program enough to know that inside Catleet thinks its a long, LONG shot to beat us, that's hard to mask from your kids. With that, if they were to be close in the second quarter or half, they would be tough to put away. I do not see that happening. If Beatty says in the paper, that we looked great in practice, then we looked perfect in reality.

I too was a little surprised at the small differential that Jody ID for tonights game...... Does he have some inside information on the Bruins??? or Rocks??? or Both?????? I do not see this as a one play game. I say Rocks are on the board in Offensive 6 plays..... It might take the Bruins a couple of quarters to get on the board.....

This is sad. Triniy/Ballard used to be a rivalry game. I've heard that the "friends don't let friends go to Trinity" tee-shirts have been selling briskly at Ballard, but no imput on BGP. Ballard used to have a presence on this site. Now its a few Trinity and X posters discussing the decline of Ballard football.

Jody indicated that T had some injury problems. I wonder if this factored into his prediction? I believe that a Bruins victory in this game would be a shocking upset.

I can see Ballard making a nuisance of themselves by hanging around Trinity in this game. They came out pretty fired up for Male and after a couple of Bulldog turnovers, Ballard was only down 28-14 at half. I was surprised that Catlett said they would focus on establishing the run and stopping the run. If you focus too much on stopping the run with Trinity, they will make you pay with the long ball. Maybe it was a little disinformation intended to confuse the "enemy".

I'm surprised there isn't more discussion about this game. Ballard's the toughest opponent the Rocks will face until the third round of the playoffs.

Yes, I believe that was indicated in Jody's column. But people were wondering why Jody picked it so close, and I was speculating that he may have felt the Rocks would miss Phillips enough to make a game that most feel will be won by a much larger margin than Jody predicted. For what its worth, your pick seems to me to be more accurate than Jody's for this game.
