October 23, 20178 yr Going for it on fourth down at the end of the game, can someone explain why you scramble out and throw it out of bounds? I mean at least throw it up for grabs who cares if it gets picked off.
October 23, 20178 yr Jags have won a playoff game more recently than the Bengals. What else you wanna laugh at? Guess we will see in two weeks at which is better. That’s your response? Are you five? Along with the Browns, your team has been the laughingstock of the league for the last 10 years just like the Bengals were in the 90s. I wasn’t putting down the jags team but I don’t need their fans mocking my team when you’ve been pathetic for a decade
October 23, 20178 yr That was one ugly half of football. Cannot echo this sentiment enough. Just another reason to once again enjoy hs and college football that much more! :thumb:

I mean at least throw it up for grabs who cares if it gets picked off. There is nothing to explain. Dalton simply doesn't get it. He did that earlier this year too. He is not prepared for big moments or to deal with adversity in a game. He just plays it conservative and gives up. Dalton is a clone of Lewis. Ultra conservative, doesn't know how to do things once things go bad.
October 23, 20178 yr It is Time for the Marvin Lewis Era to End in Cincinnati There were players laughing, joking and having a good old time in this locker room after the game. The star linebacker had many jokes and told them loudly to the delight of some of his teammates and they laughed and joked right back at him. That was the Bengals locker room at Heinz Field Sunday and that is surprising because they had just lost. I can only imagine how turned up that locker room is after a win. I’m assuming they bust out the disco ball, cigars and cognac and have dance offs. You want exhibit A as to why the Bengals are the Bengals, there it was Sunday after their 29-14 loss to the Steelers. The Bengals had just gotten punked in every way imaginable by their bitter rivals but nobody in the locker room seemed to care.

Except for the part that said Burfict isn't really a good player. Burifct does stupid stuff that gets himself in trouble. However he definitely is a very good player. However all this extra stuff he does, doesn't allow people to see that. All they see is his extra stuff. Other than that he is right on. I think the Bengals have accepted they won't beat the Steelers. It comes from lack of leadership from coach Lewis. The two most important leadership roles on a team is head coach and qb and neither is a leader or holds people accountable.
October 23, 20178 yr Time to blow it all up and start over. Blow what up? Coaching staff? Yes. Roster? No.
October 23, 20178 yr Blow what up? Coaching staff? Yes. Roster? No. Coaching staff and yes some of the roster. There are some where a trade should be explored and some that just need to go away. That offensive line is offensive. Obviously the current makeup top to bottom isn’t getting the job done. When the owner has or is perceived to have an “I don’t care” attitude then that’s what you get down the line in the rest of the organization. Should’ve fired Marvin years ago. SHOULD have fired Marvin and hired Zimmer. Jackson might be available after the season.

There are some obvious ones like Jeremy Hill who are going to be gone anyways because they'll be free agents, but who else?

Offensively they have good skill guys. Imo the only spots player wise they need to start fresh at is the line and qb. Everyone knows my thoughts on the qb spot with Dalton. So need to waste more of peoples time on that.

If the season ended right now the Bengals would have the 5th pick. There would be a QB there. Now we both know the Bengals aren't drafting a QB nor do I expect them to still have a top 5 pick when the season is over. I still think this team gets to 7-9, 8-8. But let's say the wheels just completely fall off and Dalton continues to look bad and they get a top 5 pick. Would you take a chance on one of the "can't miss QB's " in the draft or roll with McCarron?

Would you take a chance on one of the "can't miss QB's " in the draft or roll with McCarron? Depends. At that point if I could trade Dalton and get say a first round pick for him. Then I probably take a qb in the first round, because i would then still have a first round pick from the Dalton trade to take a lineman in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds. I honestly probably would try to keep McCarron if possible too and let him start out. But I doubt he would stay at that point. Now if I can't get a first round for Dalton. Then I still trade Dalton, but I would roll completely with McCarron because you have to get a lineman sometime in the first round.

(This is purely hypothetical because I don't see the Bengals dealing Dalton) If you trade Dalton you have to franchise McCarron and at least see what you have there IMO. I still draft a QB high though. If they do trade Dalton, depending on where the picks are the Bengals have 2 first round picks. I'm trading back and drafting an O lineman with both picks and then picking up Baker Mayfield in the 2nd round.
