I'm gonna miss this one headed to Jelly Stone in Cave city camping Friday afternoon hope I can listen on my phone, I hate to miss it I'd love to see Wandale against Boyle's defense.

I sense a disturbance in the force!:scared:

Boyle County: 59

Wandale Robinson: 18

Western Hills: 2

Boyle County should win this one rather easily. My concern with Boyle is their defensive line pressure. Lexington Catholic's quarterback had all day to throw the ball during the entire game last week. Before the playoffs and the rematch with Catholic, Boyle is going to have to figure out some way to put pressure on the other team's quarterback. Or maybe Catholic's offensive line was just that good.

Is it possible that Boyle chose not to put much pressure on the Catholic quarterback and instead dropped defenders back to better cover the routes?

2015: Boyle wins 64-21. Robinson with 42 yards rushing, 11 receiving.

2016: Boyle wins 52-20. Robinson with 220 yds rushing on 18 carries.

Assuming Boyle continues to play well, WH has little chance. But it would not surprise me at all if Wandale runs absolutely wild on the turf at Boyle. Could be a circus show.

I can't envision any situation where Western Hills wins, but I do think Robinson will have good numbers - probably over 100 yards. However, I don't believe the numbers will be as good as what he put up last year.

I went to the Boyle/Catholic game Smith does the same thing I did when I coached lots of time when playing a 3 front the dline is to establish themselves 2 yards up field to contain the draw and qb and put faith in Your zone which it obviously worked, they shut down the run and gave up one touchdown basically. The last Td catholic scored was on back-ups. It’s a old school philosophy but we still see it in Louisville on occasion. We always would send a weak side line backer at times. If you got good athletes you can get bye with it. Remember as a Coach you don’t always show all your cards when ur going to meet a team later in the playoffs more than likely on any level.

I thought of that and Boyle did do a good job on Catholic's receivers. But I'd still like to see a little more pressure put on the quarterback. On some plays, I timed it and he had a full 5 seconds to throw. But I'm sure the coaching staff definitely knows more about what to do than I do. Good luck the rest of the way Rebels.

Yes they were in a 3 man front most of the night.

That has always been Chuck's routine against Catholic.

I am currently in Florida. Does anybody know if this game will be on prepspin tomorrow night?

I think they're showing LCA/Danville

They did blitz more than I've seen in a while but it wasn't very effective. They brought the outside backer off the D's left side several times. If they were supposed to disguise it, they didn't do it very well. Give credit to LC's right tackle, as he contained that OLB very well. We also sent both MLB's once or twice and LC got off a nice dump over the middle on one of them for a very good gain. It's hard to get pressure rushing 3 against 5 but BC has for years employed a "bend but don't break" philosophy and it has worked for them in the past. It can be frustrating but you contain the run, keep the playmakers in front of you, don't allow the big play and if you make a mistake the drive usually stalls out. They are tough in the red zone and teams with good kickers usually fair better against Boyle.
