Ram Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Class 6A If St. Xavier has aspirations of the #1 ranking they are firmly in the middle of a two game stretch that would enable them to take the reigns. Last week, St. Xavier outlasted a very good Pleasure Ridge Park club and will now look to take down their arch nemesis, Trinity. Pleasure Ridge Park has to rebound immediately as Male would love nothing more than to knock them further down the pecking order. All great heavyweight match-ups need an under-card fight. How about three different games featuring Top 10 ranked squads from Louisville? Manual and Butler will fit that description. 1. Trinity vs. #2 St. Xavier at University of Louisville 2. St. Xavier vs. #1 Trinity at University of Louisville 3. Scott County at Henry Clay 4. Male vs. #5 Pleasure Ridge Park 5. Pleasure Ridge Park at #4 Male 6. Simon Kenton at 1A #1 Beechwood 7. Ryle vs. Cathedral (IN) 8. Butler vs. #9 Manual 9. Manual at #8 Butler 10. Ballard at Seneca
NamecipS Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Comical! I agree. Ryle should be ranked about Simon Kenton. But the ranking will work out in a few weeks.
thsrocks Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Comical! The fact Simon Kenton is ranked so high may be "comicial" based on their lack of strength of schedule. The PRP loss was a "quality" loss. The Pioneers "best" win was the 13-6 over Conner. The win over Meade County loss some impact when John Hardin knocked them off. Highlands, Bryan Station, Dixie Heights, and Cooper are not high achieving teams this season. BluegrassPreps voters take these rankings very seriously. I firmly believe each of the top five in Class 6A rankings would handle Simon Kenton.

It also looks like the gap between the top 3 and the rest of the field is miles wide.

Having watched St. Xavier/PRP on Friday night, it isn't miles wide between the two but X was clearly the better team.
LCDAWGS19 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 SK is 4th in the AP poll. The AP Poll...where South Warren received votes in a class they aren't in anymore? The AP Poll... where schools that don't exist anymore also received votes? May wanna rethink that angle.

thsrocks Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 SK is 4th in the AP poll. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'd say the BluegrassPreps voters have seen more high school football games in person than the AP voters this season. I also like the 88% percentage of winners picked by the BluegrassPreps general population of the "feature" games in 6A.

TheDeuce Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I have seen a bunch of 6A teams play. So you've seen Male and PRP to say they aren't better than SK?
UK#1fanisback Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 So you've seen Male and PRP to say they aren't better than SK? Yup!
NamecipS Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Yup! Poppycock! He wanted an objective view. We know you can't be objective.
