Western has played a brutal schedule. They have a 1 point lost to Central as well as another 1 point loss to DuPont Manuel. The other two losses are to Butler and Male. A team gets credit from me for a schedule like that.

I look at it like this: If Johnson Central had only played teams like Trinity, Moeller, etc. they could well be winless, but they would still be better than anyone else in 4A. BGP polls differ from all other polls in this respect. Last year the final AP poll had FS at number one and JC at number two, mainly just because JC had just lost to Belfry while FS was undefeated. The BGP poll kept JC at number one. The BGP poll proved to be correct.

Your line of thinking is spot on. I'll add that Johnson Central beat Franklin-Simpson 48-0 to win the State Championship. The crazy thing about that is that Franklin-Simpson was likely the second best team in the class, with another team or two not far behind. This season isn't much different in my opinion as far as JC being head and shoulders above everyone else, with a couple of teams several steps behind them, then there is the rest of the class. As far as getting those other teams in the proper order I imagine it's a tough task, but I believe BGP does a better job of it than anyone else.

I'm still waiting to hear your rankings. Post them and maybe they can be compared with the BGP rankings at the end of the season. You keep talking about flaws and mentioning certain teams, even some that are not high school teams. Yet you have not given any input as to what your own rankings would be. I'm genuinely curious, what are they?

I don't see a one point loss to central all that impressive. Central doesn't have much of an offense this year and neither does manual Western was a 4 win team last year and will probably be a 4 win team this year and finish 3rd in their district

You sound offended. I'm just expressing an opinion. I'm probably off on the Ashland ranking, they should be in the 5 to 8 range but no way in hades is a 1-4 team near the top 10. I'd substitute Bourbon County or Mason County in their place. Wins against ranked teams matter more than near wins in my book. Just an opinion. Don't take it so personal.

Records don't mean as much as a team's body of work. Some teams have it and lose some games along the way. Others are harder to figure out because they don't play any solid teams. It's getting harder and harder to figure out what your gripe is with the rankings since you consistently avoid presenting your own or adding any substance to the conversation other than team's overall wins and losses. That's not how it works. If a team should move up, make a legit case as to why they should (something other than their record) and I'm sure the people that work on the rankings will take that into consideration.
