That bracket looks pretty close to what it would have been if seeded.

How many teams have a shot at winning the region? 3?

Honestly....IMO

Unless you agree to seed the entire region, then your argument holds no water IMO.

If "fair" is the unit of measure , then HC got cheated in b-ball last winter when they were arguably the 3rd best team in the region but could not make the region because the best 2 were also in their district.

That is the key. Either the entire state seeds or the entire state does not seed.

It just makes no sense to allow some districts in a region to seed and some districts to draw.

That leads to "byes" in the regional tornament. And it really puts the "draw" districts champions at a disadvantage since they cannot draw their own cupcake.

Well, the draw stinks for Beechwood, but is great for Ludlow. Ludlow/Cov Lat cannot be blamed since they are doing what is in the best interest of their STUDENT ATHLETES. Isn't that why we are all in this?

Where do we place the blame? KHSAA. They should make it all seed or all draw so we do not have these problems. There should be a uniform system. End of story.

Well having to draw sucks, and I honestly think it usually ends up evening out through the years and all sports. Sometimes your school will get lucky and get a good draw, and sometimes you might have a great team and get a terrible draw. I know we at Ludlow have experience our fair share of bad luck in drawing for districts. So yeah it sucks, but that is the way it goes and you have to deal with it. So for some people on here who have taking some shots at Ludlow you will have to deal with it, because trust me we at Ludlow have had bad luck in draws in other sports too, so this all kind of equals out at the end, because all schools eventually get bad luck in these draws eventually. Hopefully though they will make every district have to seed, or every district have to have blind draw. The State just needs to come up with one clear cut thing for every district to make it perfectly fair....

OK I will ask....When did you have bad luck and get a bad seed? Just wondering?

IMHO, if your school votes to seed in any sport, then you should seed in all sports. This pick and choose in each sport to seed or not, is what stinks.....and indeed it is pitiful when schools get in because they got a great draw. Something to be really proud of, but we never see it on the banner that hangs in the gym.. 2006 District runner up "because we got a great draw" man how proud the players and fans must be.........

37th District draw which is seeded by the way and should be in every district.

Next Tuesday.

1 seed Bishop Brossart vs 4 seed Silver Grove.

2 seed Campbell Co vs 3 seed Pendleton Co

Championship is on Wendesday.

What is everyone's goal? STATE! A very lofty goal, but a goal nonetheless.

Also to beat NDA, Win the Cake Classic, Beat NCC,Beat St. Henry, Beat Ryle, Place high in the JCIT...you know the basics, beat the teams that are hard to beat, and win a tournament or two. They are all posted up in the hallway next to the concessions stand.

They did beat NCC, They did win the Cake Clasic, and came in 4rd last weekend at the JCIT!

For a team to have done those things, including handling Ludlow in the regular season, it is a very hard thing for the team to swallow.

I agree though, they are the rules.... just very hard to agree with them!

One question...why do we have a district, and a district tournament, if we do not have to play everyone in our district? We must play everyone in our conference, but the conference doesn't mean squat to KHSAA?

I just thought I would let everyone know that I tried to get a comment from one of my good buddies BIGZIG on what he thought of this whole matter, but he was way too busy laughing about it to give me his feedback.

2001 in baseball we were Conference Champions and had a great team, but we got stuck cause of the seeding draw to play CovCath in the first round. 2003-2004 basketball team sets a school record in wins, was a better team than Holy Cross and had shown it in a tournament already that year by making it further but somehow Holy Cross got the 3rd seed and avoided having to play CovCath in the first round. So yeah Ludlow has had bad luck, or should we say got shafted when it comes to district before. Maybe in volleyball we haven't but we have in other sports, so it is nice to get a little break every now and then when it comes to these districts...I will say that I think in every district in every sport everyone should have to play each other and then get seeded that way. But that is not the way things are done, so until things are fixed then we all will have to deal with getting a good break in district draws sometimes, and sometimes getting a real bad break...

You little sarcastic comment at the end is really unbelievable. Its not the kids or the fans fault that the KHSAA wont go out and make every district seed. So if the team does get a good break, and does make the region good for them. Then they have every reason to be happy and proud about it, because they will be in the region and still playing while the other teams are sitting at home!!!:fight:

When you say "Conference Champions," are you talking about the small-school conference?

Well, the draw stinks for Beechwood, but is great for Ludlow.

Looking back at this post, in all fairness to the Latin girls, I should not assume that Ludlow will win. Any team can win on any given night.

Good luck to all teams in district/regional play, and congrats on a great season.

Yeah I am, and had to beat Beechwood though too which we did to become conference champs...That team also had the leading hitter in all NKY that year Ryan York. That team all around just a really good team, but got stuck up against CovCath in the first round of the district tournament and got shut down by the best pitcher in the region in Rob Harmon...
