Contrats to Ryan and his family on this accomplishment. The young man has a future in kicking the football, on Sundays..... Good Luck and Congratulations.

I'm really surprised considering his obvious ability, the Trinity/UofL connection, plus the fact that his brother was a former punter for the Cardinals, that he was not offered a scholarship by Bobby Petrino. Hasn't anyone else wondered about this?

He has talked with them, but they are waiting on offering. They also just got a commitment from a Top 10 kicker in the country (though I feel that Ryan is certainly as talented as the above rating). I understand Ryan going ahead, it makes it easier and now he knows he's good. If U of L comes through with an offer, I would be suprised to see Ryan take it now. I would like him in red and white, but if he is punting a lot and real well, then what I want will be working as well.

If he can kick, he will get the chance.

Freshman placekicker/kickoff specialist Lonas Seiber(already earned the starting job) from Knoxville Central was one of the top prospects in country. He will be hard to beat out. This is why Tydlaka was recruited as punter IMO.

Congrats......... From what I've seen he can also kick at the 1A level.

Then WHY isn't he?

Just kidding Ryan. Good Luck and congratulations!

I think Ryan is a great kicker and yes could kick at D1-A, any one at the games can see that. However I really think he is one of the best punters in the country. I think the UK coaches saw that. I think FG's, punts, KO's is a lot to do for 1 person in college, hard on the leg. I see him punting FOR SURE, and at one time kicking off in the future, maybe FG's maybe in future maybe(his brother punted and kicked kickoffs 3 years, 1 year FG)

Do you think UL just thought he would go to UL because his brother did?

UL was recruiting him I heard

UL got a kicker, but still needs a punter, who ever snoozes Looses

It just may be my perception but it seems Mr. Petrino has a little attitude that the local kids are supposed to come to U of L ( as a walk on at least) and then if you dont,..... then we dont need ya type attitude...

Anyone else observing the same???

Not really. Bush, Brohm, Beaumont, Urrutia, Spencer(?), Spillman, Heyman...all got full rides.

No.

I look forward to seeing him play in Lexington the next 4 years!

Would have liked to see homegrown talent stay close to home (Louisville) but it will be nice to see that aspect of the UK program be solid..... As an earlier poster said...ya snooze ya loose...

Well deserved... great kid, great kicker. I hope we don't get to see too many more punts this year! Lots of XPs!

Don't hold me to this, but I think UofL's top target is a kicker from Ohio.
