I think the title is accurate. The question is, is Beechwood the best team CCH had played so far. As others stated above, only looking at who CCH has already played and comparing them to Beechwood.

I haven't seen Ryle, but ... one dimensional teams have trouble against Beechwood. Beechwood also has beef up front this year that they have not had in the past several years. From what I read and hear, Ryle is a one dimensional running team right now. I definitely could see Beechwood beating them.

 

Here is a question for you MTGL, if you were asked last week whether Ryle could beat Corbin, what would your answer be? My guess is the large majority of people would have picked Corbin to beat Ryle. And Beechwood just beat Corbin.

Maybe not the most talented. Maybe not even the best. But who have they faced with a better Head Coach, and staff than Beechwood? Also how many of those Ryle and Kings guys did CCH players grow up with. This is a rivalry game. Throw out all predictions and rankings.

 

Last time BW beat CCH, CCH steamrolled Dixie who steamrolled BW. Then BW kicked CCH's butt.

All Beechwood has to do is lose by 3 TD's or less and they are arguably the best team Cov Cath has played so far, right?

Not sure how much advantage playing at home provides when the schools are 2 miles apart, but point taken.

It's a rivalry game plan and simple and it is played each year because it packs in the fans from each team, which brings in the much needed revenue for both schools. There is really no cost to travel, the local bars and restaurant love it, as prior to and after the game they will all be packed as the Red Tigers and the Blue Colonels fans will sit down together and have a beer because they are in reality neighbors or in fact relatives.
