Harlan vs. Williamsburg

Featured Replies

Williamsburg was up there in points per game until they had to play the Jumpers. Harlan wins this one by a couple of scores but it won't matter, they lose to the Jumpers by 28.

Yeah and you were also the one that said W-burg would phsically beat Somerset.

How did that turn out? Even worse than I tried to tell y'all, you're playing the district for 2nd place.

:creepy: Being as cocky as you are, I'm hoping you aren't representative of the attitude at SHS. "It won't matter"???? Well I can tell you it matters to those kids who will put it on the line on Friday night for both the Big Green and the Jackets. Even "IF" this game is for 2nd place, doesn't a home playoff game "matter". I'd be less cocky and obnoxious and stick to more intelligent posts. Geez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where do they come from??? Somerset has a great team, but the district ain't won til its won. I'm sure Coach Cobb would agree. :flame:

I thought they were going to, they didn't im sorry for being wrong lol. I bet you've never been wrong have you? One thing about Williamsburg is you will never see them give up, and yes Dragonpappy I do think they can put up 34 points on Harlan. Williamsburg is a good team with alot of talent and I think they will win this one.:ylsuper:

Wburg put 20 points on Harlan last year in a 21-20 loss...Both teams return almost all of last years players...Harlan's defense is good as advertized, Wburg's offense can put points on the board...This will be a very good game...

:thumb: Agreed Southern!

Has Williamsburg played anyone with a better than average D line this year. Just wondering if they have seen any pressure in the backfield yet?

Knox Central and the Somerset game are the closest things to go by, DP.

Oneida, Tn, McCreary Cent., Jellico, TN, and Pineville don't have the intimidating D front.

I think that Harlan is the toughest D they will have seen this year.

I can't see Williamsburg just lighting up the scoreboard on Harlan. They allow 9 points a game. They kept Breathitt down reasonablly, plus they play grind it out football on Offense. Will be hard for Williamsburg to score at will without the ball for 4 or 5 minute stretches while Harlan is on offense. Lightning strikes on offense for the Burg, then physical play on long drives by the Dragons could keep the score in check. Harlan by at least a touchdown.

Ol Bubba been a hearing them there Jackets R not Scared and will show up for the game this Friday. Sounds like both them teams return alot of the same players....only difference is Jim Dawg Black is not on the sidelines this time around for the Jackets. I would expect a close, well played contest. I have to give the nod to ol' J.B. Donahue in this one. He is cut from the same mold as Bubba. I bet he can even sing a purty good country song as well. Harlan 27 Wburg 13. Them Jacket fans have been firing enough fireworks this season already. I thought the civil war had started again last time I was a visiting a friend down in Slab Town on Friday night when them there fireworks started lighting up the sky. We were so tore up we made our way to the bomb shelter and opened a can of peaches to survive....finally Sweetness came to my rescue and told me it was just them wild Jacket fans celebrating a touchdown over Jellico or some other hapless opponent... and not the Apopcalips.....lol

Im going to go with Harlan by 20. The Harlan D is TOUGH! Williamsburg hasnt seen anything like them this year. Harlan doesnt have that explosive offense like Somerset but, they will grind the clock down and the Jackets wont have much time to score. Once again Jellico, Mcreary Co, Pineville, and Onieda not a big help in competition. Harlan should win this one.

It will be interesting to see how Williamsburg responds after the big loss they had against the Jumpers. I don't know there Passing game is very good. However there pass defense isnt great. Now that Harlan does that I see them winning by 2 td's.

Although W-burg has not played a very tough 1st half schedule they still can be a scary team for the Dragons, but this is for a home playoff game and they have not been to plentyful in these parts for sometime. That said I think Jon Lundy needs to have a game like we saw early on and Harlan wins this one going away. 34-18

Great game for 3 quarters. Wburg O line much better than advertized. Root is the real deal also. Wouldn't be surprised to have a rematch in the playoffs. Hats off to all the players.
