You missed on video where the hhs player stepped delibertly on cchs #2. Should have been kicked out of the game.

Fumble in the first half was a game changer. If Camels would have went up 21-0 I think it would have ended it early. The pick 6 was also a game changer. Camels were the better team, but Highlands fought until the end and got the W. It was a great game, but on to next week.

 

Every football game at all levels has one or two plays that make the difference. Super bowl New England and Seattle is a perfect example. Also the U of L vs. Clemson game where U of L was short on the first down on the game winning drive late in the 4th qtr.

At the 3:20 mark of the video is the play where the flag is picked up. #45 is the one that the flag was dropped on. It was not a block in the back or a crack back block. I love it when there is a video posted that clears up what we all thought we saw.

 

 

Birds ran 6 offensive plays in the first 18 minutes of game clock. Campbell dictated pace and controlled the ball. HHS needs to play faster. Get plays called. Get plays run. Use outside weapons. Two platoon not a big weapon when you play slow and run only a handful of plays.

 

After 2 games, this is the most conservative offense I have ever seen in Ft Thomas. Defense got a little more aggressive in the second half and came up with a few big plays. Waiting for the offense to do the same.

I agree with your analysis of the offense. Somewhat vanilla and very very conservative. I definitely think they need to use the pass to set up the run. Huber/Vennaman/Wogan are all fine receivers with speed. Stretch the field a little bit and open up the running game.

I was watching from behind the end zone on the far side of the stadium, and that punt was 100% a fumble that was missed. The block in the back, was also not a block in the back. I think there is a youtube highlight video that shows it pretty clearly.

 

Bottom line, Highlands squeaked out a victory after another slow start. The turnovers are what saved us, considering we had 29 rushing yards and a total of 200 of total offense compared to 360 from CC. CC definitely should have used their Big Ben sized QB in the run game more. He didn't look very sharp in the second half through the air at all. Highlands' QB looked light years better this week than last week and the previous week against X. He should improve through the year and add more down field threat to the O, I believe.
