Ryle 34 Henry Clay 28 (OT)

Load the box and stop Chisholm and England and score a lot of points on the pourous Ryle defense. That is a recipe for success against the Raiders. That district appears to be significantly weaker this year than any other year I remember. Cooper and Conner are just not good. Ryle will likely be the district champ by default and get slaughtered in the playoffs Yes. After week 1 the Raiders need to start figuring out the future.

Lex-Herald had Chisolm with 9 carries for 30 yards in 1st half. 2nd half credited him with 21 carries for 220 yards. The tale of two halves...sounds like a Coach adjusting to the opponent's weaknesses and his team's obvious strengths. Chisolm's the man.

Chisholm is a stud.

Jacob Chisholm 30 carries 215 yards 4 tds.

I belive he had 268, accoring to the announcers.

Ryle played without D1 lineman Big Parker Bisek hopefully he gets back on the field soon.

Prognisis is good after Boone maybe.

bolded: He has that build.

So, @theguru, in the prediction thread you talked about changes coming to Ryle but you wouldn't give details so as not to let the cat out of the bag.

So what changes were made to the offense?

How did the secondary do?

Easton Pilliar started at Qb. He was Qb his Freshman year but switched positions with Morgans return. Easton was too good of an athlete to shelve and not contribute somewhere. It will take him a little to settle in but he should be fine. Instead of a single back we now are running dueces and power with England @ FB. Being 200lbs and pretty shifty himself it will work well to lead block and compliment Chiz. For those who thought they only had to deal with Chiz a new two headed beast has emerged. The offense will evolve from here. Remember this was only after 4 days of practice and a pretty vanilla redraft of our system. The secondary played much better. Not nearly as many mental mistakes. We still can clean up the tackling.

As we were up on the Pressbox standing with the Ryle Coaching staff waiting for their game to be over with, the play of the game IMHO was the fumble on 1st and 10 and I believe on the 15 yard line with about 1:30 to 2:00 to go in the game and the RB from Henry Clay fumbles the ball without even being touched by a Ryle player, when that play happened and Ryle recovered the ball, you knew that Ryle would win the game.

Great day/night for NKy Football with Ryle and CovCath both winning down in Lexington.

NKY.com has 215.

Good thing we had a high def camera for a couple of those runs.

I watched the broadcast on youtube after getting home. They did an excellent job.

Agree, amazing.

I talked to a group of Ryle people yesterday and they were very excited about this win. While I enjoyed the moment with them I reminded them that if Henry Clay was in shape they would have won easily.

I definitely would not be excited about this win. If anything it would make me worried that it took overtime to beat a team that may win 1-2 games.

Okay ?? Don't get excited for a win ?? It's a win. I don't care who they are playing, good or bad. Come back from behind 3 scores in the 3rd quarter and win. I get it, don't get behind 3 scores, I certainly understand. I'll bet you would change your mind if you were sitting in the stands. If you think about it, the exact opposite of your post would be, "Don't be too mad about a loss" Just doesn't make sense. Just sayin'

Last years reguler season contest was close. They had and still have a few dynamic athletes that made highlight film individual plays. What was the score in the playoffs last year of the two teams that played us close in the reguler season Clay and Cooper? I'll answer that for you, Blowouts. Each game is it's own story and I refuse to believe that being 1-1 defines our season. Please throw in the towel so we can wipe our sweaty faces off with it because we haven't written the story yet and there is alot of work left to do.

Absolutely it's exciting to comeback in the moment but in retrospect I would be concerned that it took OT to win against an obviously down team. Maybe this creates momentum that propels Ryle to a great season but I would be cautiously optimistic and dig deep to address why they were dominated in the first half. IMO you should never get too high or low with wins or losses. There is much to be learned from both.
