Notre Dame and Wisconsin to play at Lambeau Field and Soldier Field

Featured Replies

Notre Dame and Wisconsin, two perennial Midwestern college football powers, haven't faced each other in decades but are set to change that in 2020.

The two schools, as expected, announced Monday (via the Packers) that their teams will play a two-game series at two of the NFL's most historic venues — Green Bay's Lambeau Field and Soldier Field in Chicago.

The Irish and Badgers will play Oct. 3, 2020, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay and Sept. 25, 2021 at Soldier Field in Chicago. The contests will mark the first meetings between Notre Dame and Wisconsin since a three-game series from 1962-64.

WOW! I want in!

While I love the match up, and the venues are indeed historic, I'm old school in that I want these match ups on campus. There is just a different vibe when its Saturday morning game day on campus. This set up makes it feel like an NFL tailgate kind of thing.

Lambeau Field is the Mecca of football professional or college. I would love to see a game their every year matching up two historic college programs. I don't think it needs to be limited to just Wisconsin and somebody else.

Soldier field is a dump - looks like a space ship landed inside the Roman Coliseum. Bad move. And Lambeau is the Mecca, a unique experience...but Camp Randall is pretty cool when it gets rockin', should also have been kept on campus. Is this about a neutral site? as in that's the only way they could get a deal done?

It's not bad at all from the inside IMO. I was there last November.

I would imagine is about $$$$$ that those two venues will bring in from ticket sales and TV and merch and anything else you can think of that will make money for the two schools.
