Watching on ESPN2. Story of the Dunbar team of the early 80's with David Wingate, Mugsy Bogues, Reggie Lewis and Reggie Williams. Undefeated for 2 years. Wingate graduated a year ahead of the other three; who ended up being the first trio from the same high school selected in the first round of the NBA draft.

What I had forgotten was that Reggie Lewis didn't start. Was the sixth man.

What a load of talent. This team played in the King Of The Bluegrass tournament.

Yes they did.

Yes they did.

Hate that I didn't see them play. Best high school team I ever saw was the 1972 Thornridge team led by Quinn Buckner. Illinois state champs. Closest game all season,14 points.

I thought of @KingOfTheBluegrass when the narrator mentioned they traveled to LEXINGTON for the KOB. Reggie Lewis played 19 minutes a game and ended up being the best of the bunch. The emotion of Mugsy was powerful stuff, those kids were fortunate to make it out of a rough town.

Watching now really good

One of the teams they mentioned during the show was the 92-93 Oak HIll squad. I remember they played at Ellis Fieldhouse and were a sight to behold. I remember how dominant Jeff McGinnis was and they also had Stackhouse, Alex Sanders, Mark Blount and a few more D1 signees.

I saw that team as well.

This may have been the same bunch that came to Mason Co and played the Royals. @sumoroyal ?
