Trump has asked his advisers about his power to pardon aides, family members and even himself in connection with the probe, according to one of those people. A second person said Trump’s lawyers have been discussing the president’s pardoning powers among themselves. Trump’s legal team declined to comment on the issue. But one adviser said the president has simply expressed a curiosity in understanding the reach of his pardoning authority, as well as the limits of Mueller’s investigation."

However, Trump's ego, narcissism and machiavellian methods at getting what he wants will be his own undoing if his advisors cannot stand up to him and keep him from self destructing.

July 21, 20179 yr President Trump's biggest challenge is that he isn't used to bring restrained. For good or bad, in the private world he answered to no one. I honestly think it never occurred to him that as POTUS in a representative government you really answer to everyone
