I see no need to apologize. He is right.

What was controversial about his statement? Sometimes, the truth hurts.

This is how I feel about it, as well. I think he would know and he's just telling the truth. Of course, many people are upset though.

Serena and Venus played the 203rd ranked male in 1998. Supposedly before playing them he had played a round of golf that morning and had two beers at lunch and beat them 6-1 and 6-2.

She'd be ranked way lower than 700th....

Nothing controversial whatsoever and I will go as far as to say that I thought he was very complimentary to her.

I saw McEnroe play in some senior tennis event a few years ago on TV. I was impressed at how well he still looked. The real question here is whether he could beat Serena right now (or after she is in shape after having her baby). Is there any chance this the beginning of some sort of set up between a match between the two?? Billie Jean King...Bobby Riggs sequel??? I would watch that...
